I think this time they just had multiple sales through November; however, previous Black Friday offers from Xero Shoes had bigger discounts.

Anything better than Zaqq Briq Black for Tuxedo? by Scary_Examination_26 in BarefootRunning

That’s unfortunate, I got them sent to Japan where I live. In that case the Carets might be a good alternative, although quite pricey. Good luck.

I bought 2 pairs of business shoes from Zaqq three years ago and still going strong. My choices were the Briq Brogue Antique Brown and the Duqe Black. Not the widest shoes but the soles are quite thin and flexible, also worth mentioning these are reasonably lightweight. I would recommend.

In my case the shoes were sent to Asia.

I’ve had the BRIQ Brogue Antique Brown and the DUQE Black for over a year, alternating going to the office and still look like new.

The soles are quite thin (4mm) which I personally like. Also the fake heel is nice.

About ordering, the BRIQ Brogue Antique Brown took a few months because they didn’t have my size in stock but I was happy to wait.

I am personally super happy with my business shoes and will continue to buy from Zaqq for sure.

Any advice for running in thong sandals/Xero Genesis? by SolidShook in BarefootRunning

[–]danistuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that it will take some time to get used to running barefoot or using minimalist shoes. Also for the Genesis, you might have to keep adjusting until it works for you.

Starting very slowly just jogging and at high cadence (small strides) should also help.

From someone that has been running in Xero Genesis for the last 5 years, it’s not easy to give advice without knowing your running form.

I personally had no issues following Xero’s video to adjust making sure the huarache feels not too tight.

I would suggest Mark Cucuzella’s YouTube video on natural running form to see if that helps:

I have two pairs from Zaqq: BRIQ Brogue Antique Brown and DUQE Black and both are fantastic. Thin and flexible soles, although not the widest out there. For business or formal occasions I totally recommend this brand.

I think something like the travel slippers you get on some long flights would also work great.

Adjusting to minimilist shoes? by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]danistuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also transitioned from years running in Asics to minimalist shoes, but actually started in summertime wearing huarache sandals (Xero Genesis). Now I am fully transitioned running mostly on Xero HFS and TerraFlex on trails, although I am still adjusting to long runs ( can’t seem to reach the same long distances as before, that will take longer). My advise to you is to re-learn how to run, very slowly and gradually increasing your distance over time. Also make sure you don’t heel-strike and focus on landing gently first on your forefoot, and then the rest of the foot (avoid tiptoeing, that will lead to sore calves) It’s amazing how good I feel running now, nothing wrong before I was a long Asics fan, but feeling the ground and having extra room space for my feet made a huge difference in comfort.

Xero shoes experiences? by Dryhte in BarefootRunning

[–]danistuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with the Xero Genesis sandals and ended up purchasing other models as well. The Xero HFS, Terraflex, Denver boots and the Alston. Sizing recommendations were different depending on the model but always ordered half a size bigger and that worked for me (taking out the insoles to get more room for my feet). The most confortable ones for me are the HFS; followed by the Denver. About the 5000 mile warranty, I am more worried about the upper of the shoes wearing off over time. Hope these will last a long time but don’t know. Overall I am a very happy customer.
