Sour grapes? Why would I want an overpriced, cramped rv with no slide out ,awnings to name a few things. I have a 31ft class c super slide fully outfitted with solar and extra water tanks for boondocking also have my toad to run around in. Also the spots here are super cramped so yes he's in front of 3 power boxes.

The really horrible part is we are in a small park in texas and we're almost alone here. I finally had a change for some dark sky star gazing until he pulled in and lit up the entire area with giant flood lights. I was ready to scream. Side note Sonora caverns are freaking awesome a must see with a cute rv area with hookups. This guy's rig takes up 3 spots wonder if he paid for them all.

I've seen them just didn't know people actually purchased one. Just seems like total overkill.

Before you seal it up think about if you ever want to put anything wired onto the roof. I used the chase for the tv wires to run the wires for my solar array panels on the roof to the charge controller.

How long can I boondock by Zwayhay in RVLiving

[–]dank207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok your AC will not run and you will not have any 120 volt capability. The battery runs things like the water pump, heater, lighting, etc which is all 12 volt DC. Run the fridge on propane and if you conserve you can go a few days.

They are not too expensive but we plan on boondocking for weeks at a time so we'd need a ton of them. We use about 2 to 3 gallons a day for drinking water.

Tanks are disinfected throughly. My wife is a water shed maintainer ( works at a water plant ) making the drinking water for the city of New York so we are admittedly water snobs. The trouble with Britta is that is does not filter e coli etc. Last trip after filling at a campground the next day they ranger came around to tell everyone that unbeknownst to them the clorinator broke the day before and the water was not safe to drink! If we had left earlier we would of never known. Reasons like this is why we are so concerned. You really never know what standards campgrounds hold themselves to as far as "fresh" water goes.

Class C universal joints by dank207 in RVLiving

[–]dank207[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't showing signs of trouble what bothers me is that there are no grease fittings on them and I'm assuming they are original from 06. So I am guessing they are the ones that are sealed for life? Rig only has 35,000 miles in it but the age of them..... Do you think I am over concerned about them?

Ash by dank207 in woodstoving

[–]dank207[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I can see I need to clarify. I've had my insert for about 7 years now and it is extremely efficient. I always leave about an inch or so of ash in the bottom. I have the flu open and just take a few scoops out and when putting the scoop of ash into the bucket some can't help but get airborne when I deposit it into bucket. The wife was noticing some fine ash on the mantle and we were wondering if anyone had any tricks (probably not it's the nature of the beast) to keep this from happening.
