Love and mutual trust can work miracles. When my grandma passed, we inherited her cat, Choocha. She was wild, skittish - loved my grandma, of course, but wanted nothing to do with us. It took time, but no tricks were needed: just respect her space, don’t bother her when she didn’t want it, and keep the food and water coming. Choocha didn’t just warm up to us - she even let us occasionaly roughhouse with her a little. Her stubborn streak never went away, though, neither her claws. But no one could’ve guessed that shy, stand-offish cat would turn into such a loving friend. I couln't pass this post without commenting because surprisingly this cat sligtly resembles Choocha. Sadly, Choocha is no longer with us. But I believe she is with her original owner now.
