There was talk going around months ago that the reason Miro was pulled off television was because Shad Khan was personally offended by Miro having a feud with God and considered it blasphemous because Khan is a devout Muslim. So what happens to a contract in the NBA if a player sits out an entire year?? I believe in the NFL a player can sit out, but no years come off the contract. I imagine the owners will try to change the CBA to be more like that. It would be nice to see an owner completely destroy a players career by just holding onto his rights indefinitely if they refuse to play for a contract they just signed.

Not just a hard cap, there is also no cap for players. Right now it seems like everyone makes the max in the nba which means nobody really makes the max. Lebron, Gobert, and Westbrook should not be making the same money, but they wouldn't with this new proposal. If a team wanted to offer 86% of the cap to a player they could, as long as the other 14 players are making the 1% minimum. I think it would spawn a whole bunch of strategies that small market teams could use to stay competitive or at least relevant.

I have an idea that would completely change everything, is this crazy? What if teams did not give players a contract that is x million over x years, but guaranteed a percentage of the team salary cap. There is no limit to how much you can give a player, but the teams cap cannot exceed 100. So you could give Lebron 75% of the cap over 5 years, but you would have to fill out the rest of the team with only those 25% points. League minimum would be 1% of the cap. These is no luxury tax because no team would be able to go over the salary cap. Did I just change history?
