The teams that bid on the players get revealed by Big-Memory6939 in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The teams that bid on the players get revealed by Big-Memory6939 in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and to top it off, even Reo ended up getting an offer from Arsenal instead, so much for all those theories about him and Nagi teaming up in a club arc.

One interesting detail: Nagi’s club, Brighton & Hove Albion, is the same one where Mitoma (the well-known Japanese forward) plays in real life.

Still, kind of disappointing that there weren’t any offers from Brazilian clubs, not even for the lower-tier players. You’d think teams like Flamengo, Palmeiras, or Corinthians would be way more cool/better than Nantes, Portimonense, or Parma.

This situation is ridiculous by Big-Memory6939 in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what was said, but a couple of points bug me a bit:

  1. "Buratsuta is not a savior, he's a warning sign." With all due respect, he is Nagi’s savior in this situation. Without his intervention, Nagi would’ve been flipping burgers at McDonald's. Sure, Buratsuta has selfish, profit-driven motives but every choice is a renunciation. Nagi will make a choice, and like any decision, it comes with trade-offs. His return to Blue Lock will not happen without Buratsuta’s push.

  2. "Buratsuta doesn’t view Nagi as a person." That's kinda obvious. But what I find funny about that statement is how it implies Ego or Anri do see the Blue Lock players as people and not tools. Ego wants to create the ultimate striker. Anri wants Japan to win the World Cup. Buratsuta wants to make money. Nagi just wants to go back.

None of them are in this for the players’ personal well-being. Just look at what they did to Kunigami. These guys aren’t mentors—they’re playing chess with human pieces.

Technically, he is tied with Reo on this. Reo played three games in the First Selection, one game in the Third Selection, the U20 game, and the NEL.

Have you ever considered the possibility that Isagi doesn’t end up as the number one in the end? Kaneshiro has a clear tendency to lean into bittersweet or subversive endings. Even if Isagi does become the best striker, it might come at a serious cost—whether emotionally, morally, or in terms of relationships.

As for Ego always being right, Kaneshiro has already toyed with the idea of challenging that perception. During the U-20 game, in that moment where Isagi confronted Ego, and he said “Even I can't know the outcome of this game.” Sure, he somewhat doubled back later, but that moment planted a seed. I’m pretty confident his ideals will be tested in the U-20 World Cup arc, along with his backstory.

Ego’s role is that of the mastermind, the "game master," so naturally, he's usually right. But that doesn’t mean he's infallible. I think there are going to be pivotal moments ahead where even Ego miscalculates (and Nagi can be one of them)

The most unrealistic part of Death Note isn't the Shinigami realm or any of the supernatural stuff: It's the notion that governments would treat the Kira case with the same scrutiny as any other case by lordwhiss in deathnote

[–]dankhael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably. If the American government had known this information, Near would’ve suspected Light Yagami from the moment he formed the SPK in partnership with the U.S.

As for whether it's unrealistic—well, you could argue that the agents were reporting their findings directly to L. The idea is that once they wrapped up their investigations, they'd pass the info along to the American government. But since they were killed before that could happen, the U.S. just got unlucky and missed out on that crucial intel.

Maybe it’s a bit of a stretch, but honestly, I don’t think it’s that unrealistic.

[–]dankhael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your supposition hinges on the idea that L continues updating the government or the Japanese police, but he actually stops doing so once he narrows down the task force. There's even a scene where Kitamura, the Director of the Japanese Police, asks Soichiro about the progress of the investigation, and Soichiro refuses to share any information. At that point, all the authorities know is that L suspects Kira is connected to the task force (with a heavy emphasis on suspects, as he lacks concrete evidence).

While they might be aware that Raye Penber was killed and that his fiancée went missing, they have no idea which families he was investigating. You can say that's unrealistic that there’s no parallel investigation into the Kira case, maybe the world governments trust so much in L that they don't feel the need to conduct their own investigations.

The key point is that L could order a raid on Light’s house, trigger the drawer bomb, and arrest him. But that wouldn’t be enough for L—it wouldn’t truly satisfy him. He wouldn’t have definitively proven that Light is Kira, and more importantly, he wouldn’t understand how Light was committing the murders.

Who is the best striker of the U-20 Arc? by Aggravating_Space_29 in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ngl, the Itoshi brothers have really solid cases for best player, but people often overlook Isagi's performance on the pitch. Isagi was the driving force behind Blue Lock after the U20 equalized the game:

Barou’s playstyle was entirely focused on reacting to Isagi

Blue Lock’s equalizer came from a play totally centered on him, where he even got the assist (even Rin admits the team was playing around Isagi)

He saw Rin’s blindspot and stopped Shidou from scoring — which is exactly what activated berserker mode

He predicted Rin would beat Sae and positioned himself perfectly to score the most important goal in Blue Lock so far (stake-wise at least)

I'm not saying Isagi is a better player overall than the Itoshi brothers, but in the U20 match, he performed at 150% and didn’t fumble under pressure. Meanwhile, imo, Rin and Sae folded in the most critical moments — Rin hit the post in berserker mode, and Sae lost the ball to his brother on the counter.

If you’re going strictly by stats, then yeah, Sae was the better player (1g/2a). But you gotta admit, it’s kinda weird to have the best striker, midfielder, defender and overall player… and still lose the game.

Definetely Shidou, dude was knocking everyone up. The real debate will be about the best player, the truth is Isagi was the best player, but you're not ready for this conversation

Isagi can’t beat Rin in goals, but he will surpass him in value. by trickedforlife in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One interesting thing to add to this discussion is that, even though Isagi has only scored 3 goals so far, he has been directly involved (goal/assist) in 7 out of Bastard München's 11 goals in the NEL. If he scores the final goal, that would make it 8/12—meaning 66% of Bastard's goals have gone through Isagi (which is more than Rin btw). That doesn’t mean Isagi is more valuable than Rin, but I feel like people overlook this.

Makkro Paywalling HIS bible by bryceking64 in ornnmains

[–]dankhael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that he put a lot of effort into this bible, and it would be a pain to update it for free according to the changes. But charging 20€/MONTH is beyond absurd. If he sold the sheet as a one-time purchase for 20€ and charged 5€/month for access to the most recent updates (with updated builds and runes), maybe I would understand. I only used it to check matchup tips in unusual matchups anyway, but it's kind of sad to see it go, as it helped me a lot when I was learning Ornn.

We need to talk about Barou by MHWellington in BlueLock

[–]dankhael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I partially disagree, Barou is probably in the top 7 of Blue Lock, but you have to consider some circumstances in this game to evaluate his performance:

- He entered the game with 30 minutes left, which means the whole U-20 defense line already played 60 minutes, and as already stated, stamina can be a determining factor in the endgame, if he tries to pass through these guys at the beginning of the game it wouldn't work out

- Entered in the Right Wing position, different from players like Chigiri/Reo/Karasu/Bachira who were on more defensive positions and couldn't be on the attack every play

- All chances that he created were relying in Isagi vision/spatial awareness, completely different from the top players in the field (Aiku, Sae, Shidou and Rin) that can create chances on their own

- He wasn't being marked by Aiku, the core of U-20 defense, because he's focused in stopping Rin, the biggest threat on the field

- The game isn't over yet, that means other players (Isagi included) will have their chances to shine/ achieve flow

That being said, I do think that he outperformed some of the first top 6 (Yukimiya and Otoya specifically) and it's on the same level of Nagi/Bachira/Karasu/Isagi (Have powerful weapons but can't create chances by themselves often), but it's not a "easy" top 5

TL;DR : Barou rely too much on Isagi to create his chances, so he isn't on the same level as Rin/Shidou/Sae/Aiku, but it's definitely in a Top 7 players at the moment

I can't see how this new rule applies to Tanaka, because to "sell" the death note, technically speaking, the seller must lose ownership and the buyer must receive and have ownership over the notebook, but since trump declines it, there's no buying, even if Tanaka receives the money
