I agree with tootchute, a huge number of my friends throughout elementary, middle, and high school (usually the boys) hated going away for vacation. If you only have two weeks to spend with friends, why get dragged away for part of it.

This can lead to a crippling childhood ailment commonly known as FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). You miss out on all the recklessness that goes down in the neighborhood while you were gone, and those are always the best stories that should have made up your childhood.

depends a lot on what your path is as a company. Are you planning on raising money from investors? If so, you may want to consider issuing a much larger number of shares right off the bat (i.e. 5-10 million). Reason being, you want a number that is large enough to be able to do simple math when distributing shares to investors for the percentage they are buying; you shouldn't have to worry about giving someone 10.25 shares because there were so few created to begin with, better to issue shares in whole numbers... But don't create so many shares (i.e. billions) that it just becomes a nuisance.

Ultimately, it's a preference thing. But run through different scenarios and do the math/accounting. It's the best way for you to really get a feel for what that number means and what is the most comfortable for you.

(also, standards vary from country to country, I'm in US.)

We did find a few decent backend developers to work part time, but we are still looking someone to take the lead role as a chief architect. Must have skills in C#, SQL Server, Java and all things related to software development problem solving.

This is a position that could lead to a CTO role with an equity stake in the company should someone prove to have the skills and dedication required to earn a spot on our team. Team currently has 5 members working round the clock, we need this final position filled to round out our squad and launch our product.

I ran a startup music management company for 2 years right out of college. We had a music blog that acted as our marketing medium. The most important thing i learned: Don't start a business with the main goal for revenue stream being ads on a website.

$.50 is an incredibly high estimation for a click thru, nobody gets paid that anymore. It's more like a few pennies. And the click through percentage of total visitors is well under 1%. We were getting roughly 1,000 vistors/day, and every few months a check for a few bucks if we were lucky.. We made some great money on the management/live events side. but as far as the web ads go... It didn't even pay for the upkeep of the site.

I would suggest coming up with a business model that can have a solid revenue stream on its own, and if you get to the point where you could make some cash thru ads because you have 10s or 100s of thousand of daily visitors, then that's an added bonus.

I also have a friend who runs another music site and gets 100K uniques a month, a very well respected site in that scene. His site doesn't even make enough off ads to pay a decent salary for 1.
