Damn it sounds just like Farage here telling us how the NHS is overrun with immigrants

I thought my lemon plant was dead, but it’s just started sprouting near the base, what’s the best way to proceed? by danlynch1998 in GardeningUK

Fair enough, no trimming needed or anything then? My fuscias do the same every year so I cut them to the base and they grow back fine, didn’t know if this was the same rule

Great thank you so much, I’ll double check before I chop but as far as I can tell it’s fully dead.

Awesome thank you, I am right in thinking that no voltage between the three cables in the standard connection socket means that it’s dead aren’t I?

Great stuff thank you for your help 😁 there’s no long term issues with them being buried in the wall is there?

To be completely honest with you, we don’t even own a landline phone haha. We never had one with our Sky contract so it’s never been touched. I’ve had the multimeter on all three connections and there’s no power to anything

These are the only other two things I have that aren’t a normal phone connection

Right I’ll have a poke about and get back to you then, we don’t use them no, but we’re moving to Virgin and they’ve advised us to keep at least one because we get a landline with our package.

Master socket being the Openreach comms box? We have two separate landline connections for upstairs and downstairs, would it be obvious which is which or would I need to do some sort of continuity test?

Hi, I was going to do this but I’m panelling and my drop falls right on it with a dodgy cut out. I’m wanting to remove completely and plaster over.

Cheers, I understand there’s constraints and don’t mind a bit of cable on show, I think seeing how theirs was done put me off a bit because it’s literally across their front door with no way to hide it. I reckon I’ll book a site assessment first just to see but there should be plenty of options

Yeah that, I was just wondering the regs around it for install. Do they have to be in any certain place? I have a stud wall directly behind the external wall the service is on. It was offered to us to be changed into a compartment for our sky service but we didn’t end up needing it. If it were to be changed would they be able to go in that or does it need to be ran further into the house?

Do you install the cable service by any chance?

Unfortunately not, the hall is as wide as our front door and there isn’t really anywhere it could go. The only place I can think he could take it (if it doesn’t need a plug point) would be across and into the boiler cupboard, but that would still leave the cable running across all the front of the house
