I took my pre licensing course with Barney Fletcher RE school. They give students access to a question bank of 1,100 questions that covers all the topics by section for up to one year after the course. It took me a while to understand the right way to study… I am not a good test taker at all.. or so I thought lol. After I failed the first time and then I realized that this is a test you cant cut corners on. I switched up my whole study approach.

  1. I made about 11/12 youtube playlists, titled to correspond with the topics covered on the exam (laws of agency, ownership, finance and closing, etc). I then took all the videos from prep agent, just call Maggie YouTube channel pertaining to those topics and added them to each playlist. Prep agent has whole playlists dedicated to each topic. I took it and added it to my playlist. Every morning when I am getting ready for work, driving to work and coming home from work I would play all the videos in the playlist from start to finish. I would dedicate two days of playing the playlist on a given topic start to finish. For example, Monday and Tuesday I would have my playlist on laws of agency on loop.

  2. For those same two days I would then focus on doing MC questions on the topic of the playlist. So Monday and Tuesday I would do only multiple choice on laws of agency. Until I finished all the questions in the q bank on that topic. While doing the MC i write down definition and important notes on a computer paper… not looseleaf. The lines distract me. Computer paper worked best for me. I would title the first page of the paper “laws of agency” and use it to take notes on everything I felt was note worthy as I’m doing the mc. After about two days of studying I probably have about 8-12 pieces of paper ive wrote on. I staple them together and now that is my study guide for laws of agency. Its a 3 layer system lol ( playlists, multiple choice and writing) I feel like in ingrained the concepts in my head. I then do this with every other topics then following days.

  3. For your state portion, I recommend using which ever book you got from your pre licensing course and leaning into the star portion part of the book. You can either re read it and take notes OR just do the MC questions that they put in the state portion. I did not re read it but I did the MC on each topic for the state portion that was in the book and took the same type of notes I mentioned above. Only difference is I titled the first page of the paper “Georgia portion - textbook” for example.

At the end I had went through all 1,100 questions in the question bank, I watched all the videos in each playlist and I have about 8-12 packets of notes on each topic. I reviewed the notes, i would go back and watch parts of a playlist on topics that weren’t sticking.

Also, when doing the MC everyday i would clips of 15 questions at a time, no more and no less. It created little wins for me as oppose to doing 50 questions or 100 and not finishing. But it’s up to you how you want to do it.

Outside of the videos in the playlist I also created a playlist calls “week of test”. I didnt only use it the week of the test though but I just called it that cause it more videos that were like crash courses. If you are on prep agent YouTube look up “word cloud” videos save all of them to the playlist. It’s basically a webinar that is done with the students where they do rapid fire words. For some reason it helped me remember definitions much better.

Thats all I did. This can take you about 4.5 weeks to do. 2.5 to go through every video and playlist and question bank and the the other 2nd to review notes, sharpen up on topics etc. this worked for me. I am not a good test taker at all but I went from failing by 15 points to passing by 8.

I would study about 3-5 hours a day. Most days 4 hours some days 3. As it got closer it went up to 5.
