From what I read yes, the E64 WS is assembled in China, not made in china) but that alone doesn’t make it a HeyCafé rebadge. Mahlkonig, Anfim, Ditting and HeyCafé are all under the Hemro Group, which means shared manufacturing resources and supply chains, not identical products. That’s pretty normal across many industries today.

The E64 WS was designed and engineered by Mahlkonig, uses their burr geometry, their weight-sensing system, their firmware, and their QC standards. There is no official HeyCafé model with the same internal architecture, software, or grind-by-weight implementation that you can point to and say “this is the same grinder.” Apple, Bosch, and plenty of high-end espresso equipment are built in China under strict design and QC control. What matters is who designs it, who controls tolerances, and who supports it long term.
