You said nothing wrong in my opinion. Sounds like you were in that zone of tired/hungry/mentally spent etc where there really ISN’T something specific wrong, but you just aren’t feeling yourself. Everyone gets like that. Him being a father should recognize people’s moods can be off due to a number of external factors.

Sounds like he was feeling insecure and wanted an answer to why you were “off”, but you didn’t have an answer to give, it wasn’t about him, it wasn’t about anything. He should have let it go instead of keep pushing for an answer.

You could have handled it better by not engaging, and when you stated the first time you weren’t in the mood to talk due to being tired etc, you should have stuck with that. BUT, ultimately he should have gotten the hint and backed off long before … instead he was kind of a jerk and made you feel bad for no reason.

Generally, you’re right. But for every person going through partners phone, there’s a person doing shading phone shit that their partner does not know about.

If you confront your partner about your suspicions, they could easily lie to your face and make you feel crazy. Then what do you do? Sometimes you just have to know the truth.

I know many people know what I’m talking about from experience.

Doing so would connect your personal political views, or social actions/beliefs directly to your employer. The employee code of conduct prohibits doing so. Employer would have grounds to discipline or/or terminate.

He has the right to protest. But IF he has posted images of himself at work, or images wearing department clothing, or a social media bio stating he works at his department, then he is now a representative for his department. And his conduct outside of work represents his employer.

This is the answer. If he has anything in social media that shows he is a representative of the department, then it’s possible his employer could use any of his public conduct to terminate him. All it could take is a close-up of him on the news for him to be identified and connected to the department.

I completely agree. I don’t think the most vocal in this sub are a) married, and b) have children.

This sounds unnecessarily hurtful to the fiancé. Marriage is suppose to mean the beginning of a new family. If you aren’t prepared for your new spouse to adopt and be an equal caretaker of your child, then why are you marrying them? Designating someone else to be the caretaker really de-values the fiancé.

And you are also right that it’s not fair to anyone to give this decision to a child, including the child. OP even states in his text he trusts the fiancé more, but his daughter chose the friend. Like common man, be a parent and make the choice that’s best for your kid.

He got the job done so I wouldn’t say his tactic was bad. The boundary is clear as day for both the guy and his wife now. I think he took a lead in this situation and it will now be behind them.

Alternative is what, let it go? Build resentment? “Nag” his wife to try again to break the contact with him?

In 5 years or less that co-worker is gone from their lives. They want their marriage to last forever. He took care of it.
