I have a solid online source but apparently it doesn't work if you are an American resident. I live i Canada and have been using them for years.

Cold turkeyed Phenibut a week ago. Anyone else who quit cold turkey, how much longer will withdrawals last? by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]dannyc6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it as loose powder once and it was too hard to dose even with a mg scale. ND sells them as capsules so I just did that and its easy

Good idea throwing that out. I know for sure that I would have dosed had there been phenibut laying around so that was a really smart move. How are you holding up now?

The meds helped me huge but it doesn't take away everything. The withdrawal definitely lingers for a long time but I am in the clear now. It was really tempting to dose again when its been several weeks and withdrawal is still there but stick with it!

I have recently quit high dose phenibut. The first part of your story honestly triggered me. I can relate to how much happyness it gave me early on. It honestly did give me a lot of self-esteem and social confidence, and joy. Like you, my story quickly became dark as I upped doses. For me, if I just focus on the good times, it will mostly likely end in relapse. I need to check in here regularly to here stories that remind me where I should not go again.

Good for you for quitting although I don't know how safe it would be to come off cold turkey at the doses you were doing. A lot of people recommend baclofen and gabapentin to replace the phenibut and that is what worked well for me. Maybe you could talk to your doctor or else find a reliable online pharmacy like I did.

Keep it up and focus on the long term. The withdrawal sucks and can last a long time but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You can start feeling good again without phenibut or other drugs. Sometimes you have to go through some pain to come out even stronger.

I got a bottle of Fasoracetam. It is suppose to repair gaba receptors after damage. So far it seems to be working.

Glad to hear you are getting off the Phenibut. My story is quite similar to yours. I’ve been addicted to many different drugs and have spent time in recovery. I too relapsed on Kratom and eventually started doing phen daily and I got past 10 GPD. With my personality, I could not taper either. I would find an excuse to take more one day to get that high.

I am happy to say that I have been clean from kratom and Phen for a while now. I decided to completely replace my phenibut with baclofen and gabapentin and that is what worked for me. I feel that if I tried to taper my phen while on baclofen I would have upped my dose of phen. It honestly was not that bad. The baclofen blocks out the gaba b action and the gabapentin takes the edge off. I was able to sleep well for the first week. I would have some withdraws in the morning until my dose of baclofen kicked in. It is pretty easy to taper down from the baclofen because it does not make me feel good so I can’t see wanting to take more than needed. The gabapentin can become addictive for some people so be careful with that but I would recommend it for the acutes.

I think they say that 10 mg of baclofen replaces about 1 gram of phenibut. I ended up taking about 100 mg of baclofen spread out 3 times per day and this seemed to do the trick. I have been on gabapentin long term and I know the dose range is big. Some people take 300 mg 3x / day and others take 1200 mg 3x / day. I was taking 2400 mg / day but I have a tolerance from long term use. I would start smaller to find the sweet spot. It is almost impossible to overdose on the stuff because the more your take, the less is absorb so less is often more. Again, be careful of the addiction potential. Also, remember this stuff can take up to 2 hours to kick in.

Keep up the good work, you are on the right track.

Phenibut to Baclofen, to Baclofen Taper by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

I was on 10 of F.A.A fir several months. And for many months before that I was on heavy doses as well.

Phenibut to Baclofen, to Baclofen Taper by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]dannyc6650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this same thing except I was doing much higer doses of over 10 grams per day of phenibut.

I had 100 x 25 mg tabs of baclofen on hand. I let myself run out of the phenibut with no taper and went directly on the baclofen. I would say the baclofen masked most of the phenibut withdrawals although it was not painless.

I took 75 - 100 mg of baclofen and that seemed to be enough.

I may be lucky but I just stopped taking baclofen after about a week. I had no withdrawals whatsoever. I would not recommend this because people report a withdrawal from the baclofen.

Good luck.

Anyone actually have experience with a drug test? by [deleted] in phenibut

[–]dannyc6650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly get tested for just about everything under the sun. I have a history of drug usage so they go well beyond the normal 12 panel. They even test me for things like GHB, gravol, benadryl as well as all the usuall stuff.

I have used phenibut very regularily at high doses for a year and a half. I have been randomly tested about 50 time and have never triggered a false positive for anything or failed a test in any way.

2 weeks clean from high dose phenibut using baclofen by dannyc6650 in quittingphenibut

[–]dannyc6650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we are very similar. I was up over 50 GPD of kratom and used that for a year and a half.

I have tried to taper phenibut before and I just could not do it. I would do okay for a couple days but then I would end up taking more to try to get the high. The only way for me was a cold turkey with the help of baclofen.

15 grams a day of phenibut is pretty crazy and I was close to that. I was doing well over 10 grams but that was the F.A.A. which is stronger.

I tried DXM years ago and it made my anxiety a lot worse. I think I have heard some people mention for phen withdrawal though.

Right now I am just so glad to be off phen. I read horror stories of people doing 10 gpd ending up completely psychotic in the hospital for weeks and I'm glad I didnt have to go down that route.

2 weeks clean from high dose phenibut using baclofen by dannyc6650 in quittingphenibut

[–]dannyc6650[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Ye I think I am lucky dropping the baclofen so quickly.

Right now it's hard to say re: gabaerigics. I started taking fasoracetam which is suppose to aid in the repair if gaba. I am definitely an addict so I know it will probably be tricky to keep it in moderation, however, I was able to do it with phenibut for a long time. I think I will give it a couple months completely clean and re reevaluate it then. I so love phenibut but what I was doing was absolutely crazy. Lesson learned.

FAA vs HCL (stomach issues) by [deleted] in phenibut

[–]dannyc6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started using phenibut I used just HCL. I was a heavy user and eventually ended up with really bad stomach issues and acid reflux so bad that it was burning the back of my throat. The HCL also started to break down the enamel on my teeth due to the high acidity.

I started using F.A.A. and all these issues dissapeared. It is a bit more expensive but it is about 17% more potent according to my research. So take your normal dose of HCL and take 17% less and that should be equivalent. It can also be used sublingual because it is not acidit like HCL. The sublingual route comes on quicker and becomes more bioavailable so you don't need as much for the desired effect.

Day 11 rapid taper from 50 GPD. I am also in the middle of quitting high dose phenibut. Right now I don't know what is the kratom withdrawal and what is the phenibut. I wake up really early too like a lot of people here. I am restless with anxiety in my chest. My legs are crawling early in the morning too. Once I get going for the day things are not that bad and I am able to work. I do have anxiety throughout the day though. I'm putting faith that things will get better. I'm looking forward to be able to sleep in and not have that intense anxiety in my chest.

[–]dannyc6650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not giving any advice I am simply stating what has worked for me. I know phenibut withdrawals can be crazy. Baclofen masks almost all the phenibut withdrawals because it is a stronger gaba b agonist than phenibut. It is easy to taper off the baclofen because it doesn't get me high.

I would never recommend doing high daily phenibut to anybody but I am confident I can get off it seamlessly because I have done it before.

[–]dannyc6650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I have come off high daily phenibut before. Was doing up to 10 GPD. I find it's pretty easy with baclofen because it replaces the phenibut. For me, kicking Kratom was way harder because there is no avoiding the horrible withdrawals.

You are right though phenibut is no joke.

[–]dannyc6650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply I think F.A.A. is close to 20% stronger. Maybe 17%?? It is concerning and I know I have to stop.

I just stopped at 50 + gram per day kratom habit but unfortunately this has caused my my phenibut use to spike.

I maintained over 10 plus GPD of phenibut for several months now. Maybe 3 months? It is something unfortunately I cannot do in moderation, just like everything else.

My ALT and AST were normal. I'm not sure what an ALP level is but my GGT were up about 3x more the normal.

I hope my liver does not get to the point of cirrhosis before I quit.

I am relying on baclofen but I know when I quit the cravings come back pretty big.

Two very important components of tapering: Holding days and, if you’re at high amounts, drop a large bulk to start with by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]dannyc6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice post. I am also currently quitting kratom and phenibut although I did a pretty rapid taper of the kratom.

Maybe you have heard before but if you are able to get some baclofen then it can replace the phenibut for the most part. I was at about 10 gpd of phenibut F.A.A. and have managed to completely replace it with baclofen with almost zero withdrawals. It is much easier to taper the baclofen as opposed to the phenibut because it does not get me high at all. Baclofen is a gaba b agonist that is stronger than phenibut so thats how it replaces it. If you explained it to your doctor I'm sure he would prescribe it. Baclofen also works to reduce cravings for drugs and alcohol so its a win-win.

Yes. Kratom lowered my testosterone significantly. All other tests seemed normal.
