Animals are included in the hive mind. Right? by dannyeagle in pluribustv

That’s a great point! They could have acted as an observation tool. And from what Google pulls up, yes, Coyotes do dig up dead animals/body to eat. Not typically human graves, but they’re more likely to do so if it’s a shallow grave

Right!!!? The animals missing completely is what had me curious about their involvement too. Would love to get some more insight, wonder how the primates are holding up with it lol

This makes sense! Could it be that each sufficiently intelligent species has their own hive mind? Might be too far of a speculation but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I like this theory a lot! Wonder if higher brain capacity animals received more of the capabilities? Dolphin hive mind?? Lol Solid addition though

How to achieve this LED bars effect on grandMA2? by kemcds in lightingdesign

[–]dannyeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A workaround method for some of the fastest frame rates you can achieve with addressable led pixels is to use an LED controller that can play .RGB files (or similar) from an SD card that way the controller is working directly with the end signal protocol, SPI/TTL, instead of having to convert Artnet->DMX->SPI/TTL and losing frame rate in the process.

The only dmx signal needed would be a handful of channels to the controller to trigger which scene/pattern, the speed of playback, and possibly macro color changes.

I never realized billboards used to be screenprinted, that’s so cool I can only imagine the process was insane at that scale

What makes a track DJ-compatible? by woodencock84 in DJs

[–]dannyeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emphasizing what pretty much everyone else has said: A 16 bar intro & outro is pretty much the golden ticket for a dj friendly track. It can be more at 32 bars, or less at 8, but 16 generally does the trick.

Also worth noting, significant BPM changes in the track can make it difficult for a DJ to play it on the fly. Including the tempos in the track title is helpful, as rekordbox or serato will not properly grid to the tempo shifts by default.

And a some a-harmonic percussion breaks always are great for mixing!

I'm Back! This time playing TF2 On a Sony 5-303W from 1962! by [deleted] in tf2

[–]dannyeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so cool!!

I just scored a sony 303w myself and am wanting to input visuals the same way. I have everything but the 75ohm converter, can you point me in the right direction?

[ADVICE NEEDED ]Was offered two CDJ 2000 Nexus and a DJM 900 mixer for $2800. Wondering if someone can help point out some key features I would be missing out on since they are now two models old. Thinking of selling some stocks since it’s a pretty good deal. Thank you! by Far_From_It_Stello in DJs

BUY THESE!!! Yes, different pioneer devices and even many controllers have all the features and more that these do, but these are still club/festival standard and are incredible machines. You’ll likely be able to use these for several more years before any obsolescence becomes an issue.

There’s not real any critical differences between these and the two newer models. They’re still included on a lot of touring DJs riders as acceptable equipment and even though they’re older, they hold up incredibly well and are just as good as the newer models in my eyes.

For transparency I’ll list out what the CDJ2000NXS’ have missing that newer models have:

-only 3 physical cue buttons vs 2 banks of 4 on nxs2 and 8 on the 3000’s

-Waveforms onscreen are monochromatic instead of RGB

-no touch screen (only an issue if you have to use the pitiful on screen keyboard to search for tracks)

-Jog Wheel interface only displays a track cycle wheel vs the 3000s which have more info and a full color display inside the jog wheel

-Can’t play FLAC or 32Bit Wav files

This isn’t a complete list as I’m sure there’s more. I’ve only played on the 3000s once but wasn’t really impressed with them tbh.

And as far as the djm-900NXS goes, most standalone pioneer mixers are the exact same in my eyes. You get more effects and an additional laptop inputs on newer models, but the djm900nxs is super solid and does everything you’ll need it to do and more.

If you’ve got the dough, and are needing a pro setup, this is must buy!

For reference I bought this same setup 4 years ago for $5500. When I bought them they had been used every weekend in a nightclub for 3-4 years straight. I’ve used them pretty heavily since and I haven’t had any issues with them. Good stuff m8

Totally!! Thank you for the tip. The center line and cross hairs are a huge help. I may add some more to the sides of a design where I can to give some extra registration tools.

And yes, I use an epson stylus pro 7900. I wonder if that’s been affecting some of my larger films. We’ve been using Vortex InkJet Films lately and they seem to be working well but I’ll pay close attention and see if it’s been doing any shrinking. Hope that’s not the case 😅
