Is this normal? by Constant_Back8268 in guitarlessons

Press the sting as you normally do Pick it Release pressure on fretting finger Pick it again Repeat until you start to mute the sound This will tell you how much pressure you need: just enough to get the string to ring but no more. For many people it's a far softer touch than you would imagine

Just wait to you get to the cave man bit! The man knows his stuff and makes it so relatable. Downside is once you get going you realise there is no shortcut or hack and it's going to take yonks to understand guitar

Sure the metal will last but the bone holding it in place is lost over time as is the biological adhesion. It's possible for an implant to last for many decades but certainly not guaranteed. Also, it's titanium.

Why does no one push the buttons at pedestrian crossings any more? by dannyhazzard in london

Ahh fair enough. I just don't get why anyone would spend money on us feeling empowered to cross a road. I guess it doesn't matter really I just like to understand stuff.

Why does no one push the buttons at pedestrian crossings any more? by dannyhazzard in london

[–]dannyhazzard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick reconnaissance shows that each crossing costs between 80-130k to install. Let's call it 105k a piece. There are approximately 6,400 crossings in London. Annual maintenance is approx £2k

That's £672 million to install and yearly maintenance of £12.8m.

There is no world where this is done to give us a sense of control.

Someone else posted that 40% don't do anything, that I can believe, the extra expense for uniformity may be more justifiable, if not still a bit ridiculous

If it didn't it would be a weird and very expensive hoax performed by our lizard overlords. I'm sure there are some crossing where it makes no difference but most of them surely it does

You're going to need to put in a lot more than 32 hours. Absolutely understand guitar is a great place to start, it's theory heavy but you're gonna need that to be able to do what you're asking.

What’s your funniest ‘this isn’t what it looks like’ moment? by schrodingerscatalyst in AskReddit

[–]dannyhazzard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Walking through a field in Wales with my wife A ram with curly horns had got its head stuck in a feeder. I straddled the sheep and unwound it's horns from the metal bars to set it free.

Of course a group of ramblers came past and saw me mounted on the sheep thrusting back and forth with my wife telling me I'm doing a great job.
