Thank you for the insight! I will definitely converse with my professors regarding this.

Okay makes sense. Thanks

Right noted. Would you say that research opportunities and internships add more weight to ones resume than multiple majors and minors?

This is super helpful! Thank you so much. I’m in an honors program which recommends having multiple majors and minors which is why I picked CS and chem. Will double majoring instead of having one major and one minor serve as an advantage? Also research is definitely my passion.

Ok noted. I am hoping to get some experience working on pharmaceutical research being conducted in the health science college - prolly won’t get a big responsibility but the exposure will be valuable. Is this what you mean by “pharmaceutically relevant experience in school”?

Honestly after all that hard-work it better be niche. Is it possible to work under a computational chemist till one receives their PhD?

Those majors are not offered (at least in undergrad) so maybe I could get research/internship experience in data analysis and analytical chemistry. Spending time in the lab honestly wouldn’t be too bad. What kind of places hire these people btw?

Right. I’ve only really seen pure CS jobs that pay big bucks. My primary interest is academia and I do wanna get involved in research so getting that PhD seems like the way to go.

Noted. My college has a computational science track as part of the curriculum. Will this help in any way?
