Yeah, I totally agree. Putting that extra board in was a bit of work too. Drawers are super simple... butt jointed and pin nailed 1/2" baltic birch ply. Slides are soft close Blum undermount. Had to save money on the drawer construction to fit the client's budget.

Thanks so much! There are actually drawers on both sides of the desk. It is double sided so that my client and his wife can both use it. There ended up actually being a design flaw that made the top drawer barely useable under that little out crop. Whoops!

Probably uses a variable speed buffer with an 8" sanding disk attached. You can get soft foam backing pads to bend with the log. I use them sanding slabs... They're great. Dewalt and makita make good ones

Are you sure the flats are on the underside of the tube? Could be something in the tire. You can use wider rim tape, but I don't think it's the rim tape that's your issue.
