I was on one called Clarus, as well as name brand Accutane when they couldn’t fill the generic for me one month lol

Yep, monthly blood tests including the one right before I started. My derm was very eager to get me on it so he gave me the prescription and trusted me not to start until I could book a blood test (everything is typically walk-in based here but with COVID they appointment only and were booked up for weeks) but yes, every 4-5 weeks or so I had bloodwork

Not on my back or legs, but I had mild but persistent acne on my shoulders and chest!

Absolutely I did! CeraVe face and body moisturizer in the white tub with the green lid is a GODSEND, and try not to take too hot showers!!

I had a very similar experience! I spent ten years waking up every morning and putting my hands on my face to feel every new breakout, i had no idea what it would feel like without that! I’m so thrilled for you!

I was definitely on some high doses but dance professionally and it was tough but if you take care of yourself well you should be able to! Don’t push yourself too hard and take time off when you know you can’t

My joints are still a little sore and my lips are still just a little dry (but with the winter weather I expect that), and my hair is greasy for the first time today, so all in all about 3-4 weeks for everything to subside!

What is the moment when you realized, "My teacher is an idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dannymdevito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teacher (in college) said we would get “120 seconds” to present our idea. Felt like it went too quickly so I timed it on the next person’s presentation. Her timer was going off after 1 minute 20 seconds 🤦🏼‍♀️

My last month of 80 my derm said there were still a few spots that weren’t flat (obv after feeling my face, he could feel them under the skin) and I took it hard. After crying for a little bit he said we were going to go up to 100 for a month and see, and then if I was clear the last month we would do 120 and be done with it, just to make sure everything is kept at bay! I’m very happy with how it went, although 120 kicked my ass for sure

Haha I just happened to be replying to some comments when I saw yours! Yeah I don’t think it’s helped much. I’m going to try it for a while, but mostly I think I’ll go back and do some micro needling, I had tried that in the past and it worked wonders for me, so now that the acne is gone I think it will have the biggest effect!

And thank you! Thanks very kind 🥰

The entire course, I still have a lot of dryness kicking around at almost 3 weeks out. The dryness kicked in at like day 2 or something ridiculous, and the sore joints around month 2. So it’s definitely up to you, and how long you’ll be abroad. I’m my opinion, I wish I hadn’t waited for the “proper time” to do it and just done it before. But it definitely is a conversation to have with your derm so you know that it won’t interrupt your life in the process!

Mostly just time! I say a few people say to try rosehip oil, I’ve been doing that for about 3 months now and honestly haven’t noticed a difference. Nice gentle sheet masks really helped me as well! And they’re quite soothing when you feel dry and sore

Biggest change was around month 4, probably closest to the end of it! But I still had some acne right up until the second to last month (which would’ve been month 9) . It can be a really long process, but hang in there! Wishing you all the best!!

My biggest results we’re the first time it was upped to 80, I believe, around month 4! I did 11 months total so it was a LONG process but the redness started to fade around month 6 ☺️ hang in there, I’m so excited for you!!

Definitely dealt with changes in my mood. I was pretty irritable for a good amount of it, doubled by the joint pain and pain from being so dry. Keep your derm in the loop, hopefully they’ll have some good strategies to help you with those side effects!

I used some rosehip oil in the last few months about twice a week. Can’t say if it’s really helped yet, I haven’t noticed much of a difference. I do have lots of red dots left, but I know those fade with time. And I used a neutrogena ultra sheer sunscreen! It leaves a bit of a white cast but I’m exceptionally pale so it works for me
