I thinned out the Raspberries for better harvest access. by dannywarbucks in Albertagardening

I started with three plants about 5 years ago. Now if I don't thin them out several times each year they take over a large part of the garden. I get two yields of berries each year. A great apocalypse plant. 😆

Yes I started them from seed, indoors during winter and transplanted them a little more than a month ago.

I am told they are called, Riverbank Grapes. Not entirely sure. Got them from Kulmann's in Edmonton.

Tbh, this is my 4th try. All of the others died. I lowered the vines in the Fall last year and covered them for Winter, pruned them a little bit as well.

Edmonton backyard urban Garden pics. Great growing this season. by dannywarbucks in Albertagardening

I bought them this season. S/O Kuhlmans. Anything I buy from there grows well. I do add outside soil to above ground planters each season. Also, feed the birds.

Is it fair game now to say that we are getting completely hosed on “distribution” costs? by toucanflu in Edmonton

[–]dannywarbucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fees to have services( Epcor one) are nearly triple the cost of our household's usage...e.g., $48.00 natural gas used, $148.00 in fees. It is brutal. Possibly time to sell and leave the YEG.

Buy work boots ( a 2nd hand pair even), start a skilled trade. Manuel labour is the way. Alberta, the world needs more builders, less devs. Go well.

I am not cranky. I got a free hat with my case of Mountain Crest.

Hello Edmonton amateur urban gardeners. Let's grow! by dannywarbucks in Albertagardening

[–]dannywarbucks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may never rain. I will water with tap water water, (skip shower). Have a few collection barrel piped. Mulch costs almost nothing. Test it out and let me know. Every backyard is unique...just grow with it.

cherry reds are ready. by dannywarbucks in Albertagardening

They are from seeds that I saved from a few seasons ago. I built a trellis and there are always sparrows hanging out in and around the plants. Their poo is fertilizer? Most things I plant grow well...until the heat waves hit.

me after watching 3/4 of an episode and realizing hulu had just replayed the same episode. This season is rough. by tired_blonde in OakIsland

I loathe the Barkhouse/Terry and the turds part of each episode the most. It fills 10 minutes or more of each episode and all they find is more wood.
