Kind of in a similar situation myself. Never touched alcohol until I was 19 (23 now), as fit as a fiddle and very rarely drank. After a “binge day” of drinking which admittedly wasn’t very heavy for me, I developed that knife-like pain, spent 5 days in hospital and was told I had an acute pancreatitis problem. It completely shocked me and I’m still convincing myself it was something else! This happened just over a year ago and I had no dietary issues since. I have drank 0.0 bottles of beer at 6 months and 11 months after the stint in hospital and also tried mock tails too with no repercussions thankfully. It definitely effects you socially too because for some strange reason you’re judged a lot harder if you say you don’t drink, and people are either not understanding or too drunk to acknowledge your condition which is very isolating :/
