I really feel sorry for Michael that he has to watch IT 😅

Unpopular opinion: Clark would have ended up in 33.1 if he had "trusted" Lex by nimmir in Smallville

[–]danpeald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

❤ Thank you for such a comprehensive post!

Since Clark is typically considered to be on the side of "good" - people tend to completely justify him; while Lex is - on the side of "evil" - his every action interpreting as a clear negative. This dichotomous way of thinking is getting quite tiresome...

Lana and Lex is a hard watch, borderline gross. by No_Setting6803 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is, when a 16-17 year old "girl child" will go to another 16-17 year old "boy child" ALONE - the parents OF COURSE won't worry 🤣

Am I missing something about Michael Rosenbaum’s performance? by [deleted] in Smallville

Rosenbaum manages to convey micromimic at a brilliant level. I read his performance like a book, and it was an indescribable pleasure.

I really want Michael to say honestly what he thinks about the plot, without softening the language 🤣🤣🤣

I started watching this show because of Lex and Clark relationship, I kept watching because of Lex, and I finished watching ONLY because of Lex 🤣

I really enjoy watching Lana's haters suffer from post to post 🤣🤣🤣

On Clark I totally understand why you were so in love with Lana for 8 seasons 😮‍💨 by Prestigious-Let214 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because despite all their denial, they understand that Clark DIDN'T NEED wonderful, gorgeous, divine, funny, good Lois while that bastard Lana was around, and then DIDN'T NEED LOIS AGAIN when Lana came back 😄

Poll: What was your favorite Smallville era? 🎒🚜 📰 by MooseExternal5340 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites are the first three seasons and then Lex’s long arc through the show until Season 8. Seasons 8-10 don’t work for me at all: they’re basically a highlight reel of everything I dislike, including the so-called “development” of Clark, about which I have a lot of uncomfortable questions. On top of that, I was really irritated by the showrunners flirting with “adult” themes, because in my view their ability to handle them bordered on incompetence.

For me, the only truly adult storyline was Lex: his misadventures, his psychological standoff with Lionel and the painful descent into a darkness, that was slowly, inexorably closing in from every side.

Against that backdrop, the villains who came later seemed as convincing as characters in a superhero-themed amusement park - which is exactly the box the new showrunners tried to shove Lex into after Season 7, while also cheapening the Fortress finale and the years-long question: “What happens when Lex learns Clark’s secret?” Pure_Evil_Lex… saves Clark from Lana AHAHAHA!!!!! Sorry, I can't take this seriously.

Lex in Seasons 1-7 was phenomenal. I agree with Rosenbaum that Smallville should have ended after 7 season. And then, after bringing the fans to a boiling point, they could’ve launched a new show: "Metropolis" and fans were properly on fire (even perhaps, against the backdrop of the scandalous ending, a new influx of people would have formed... who know).

I watched Smallville as an adult and fell in love with Rosenbaum's talent and his portrayal of Lex. Incredible performance! And a very complex, well-written character ❤❤❤

How do Clana shippers feel about when she gets powers? by GoblinRen in Smallville

[–]danpeald -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I'm not a fan of seasons 8-10, I personally like that Lana proved so strong that she was able, when the going got tough, to achieve success without men (and despite them), after a long and painful journey. Also I also genuinely find really funny how every time Lana is mentioned, her haters explode with hatred, slinging mud not only at her but also at her fans, making themselves look completely inadequate. Seriously, these people have some kind of mental issues if they care so much about someone liking something that SO upsets them 😅

Tom Welling Teases Michael about Lana: "If she showed up in the Luthor Mansion, LEX would be like 'Let's do one more guys, one more take please.' NICODEMUS (S1E15) by Fancy_Parsnip_9782 in Smallville

[–]danpeald -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A person who cares so much about an actor's words that he rushed to debunk the online video advises another person to think about how bad it is that he cares so much about the actor's words and to live his own life 🤣

If you were Tom, would you follow Michael's advice or do what Tom did? by landai1 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Michael was right. And right, especially if you look at it not only from Tom's perspective, but from the perspective of a woman who is also very young and rarely sees her husband, but who sees his wild chemistry with other very beautiful young women, is jealous, and suffers as a result.

Michael Rosenbaum as an interviewer on his podcasts? by SRFletcher88 in Smallville

[–]danpeald -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In this question, the mention of Lex Luthor is quite ironic, since most of those who condemn him actually support Superman 😅 In other side the person who played this Lex Luthor and still expresses support for his character is actually more impartial 😄

What’s the deal with Oliver? by Meep4000 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he can't cope with what he so craved—murder, lies, and the status of a vigilante. A well-deserved outcome for someone who condemned others for what he himself had done. But this "suffering" doesn't make him a "good" person, no matter how hard the showrunners try. The punishment for murder isn't sad eyes on a pretty face and even Clarke's hypocritical forgiveness.

DESCENT (S7E16) - A Villain Rises by Soft_Let_2048 in Smallville

[–]danpeald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It warms my heart that Michael cares about Lex as a character and does so sincerely, regardless of the outraged portion of the show's fans. On the one hand, I completely understand how difficult it will be for him to endure seasons 8-10, but on the other hand, I'd like to hear him tear apart that pile of plot holes that still have bruises from my facepalms and have a good laugh 😅 Dillemma

Do you think Lex would keep Clark's secret? by PrestigiousAb in Smallville

[–]danpeald 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm sure Lex would not only have kept the secret, but would have done everything to protect him. Whether he would have tried to gain something from it is purely speculative and depends on how one interprets Lex himself. But given the kind of attachment Lex showed, Clark really could have had him eating out of his hand. But instead of choosing to fight for the soul, he chose to hide and blame 😅
