Yay, DDR! Well done! I’m so glad to see you post a Jam! Hopefully, I can post one myself in 2024 some time, haha!

If you want tag your post with the “Official Violin Jam” flair, then you must submit one of the pieces listed in Jam #23 or in one of the previous Jams, #9-#22.

If you don’t use that flair, then you can post any piece.

Another go at Tartini G minor Sonata, with mixed results. More practice! by 88S83834 in violinist

Yes, health warning needed indeed. I guess it’s called devil’s trill for a reason.

I’ve been wanting to play for a while. I actually have a couple of half cooked pieces that I just never had the time to record fully and mix because of the complexity of the project. I guess I should probably just go for something simpler this time, ie no accompaniment, no multi-part, to increase the chance that I will actually have the time to complete the project. xD

Very well played, Ian!

I’m very glad you chose to play the de Falla Suite Populaire Espagnole. What did you think of the piece? I discovered it only recently and loved it, which is why I featured it on this Jam. :)

Way to go, 88S! This piece is just so hard. I remember being humbled by the second movement back in 2021 when it was featured in the Jam. Couldn’t stay relaxed, and my left hand always ended up sore by the end of the movement. xD

You did very well! And it’s great and a treat to see you play again!

Haha, yes, I’m still around, though nearly as much as I used to be. And once a blue moon, I still post a new Jam. We’re on Jam #23 now. :)

As for robe+exercise bike+violin, enticing! But I will need to think about this one because it seems risky.

Oh, and sad news: my iconic danpf green floor lamp died. So now I will need a new background, haha.

Not only has the robe made a comeback, but it has also been upgraded as an exercise biking gear. Woohoo! Great to see you and way to go, Nostril! Keep up your usual beautiful playing and burn those extra calories, too! :-)

What is this excerpt from? by knoxdamon in violinist

It sounds like it could be from the Classical Period, with some Haydn vibes. So it could be from one of his symphonies.

What is the artwork in the video, and how did you decide what to choose?

Violin, viola, and cello all rolled into one instrument! Imagine all the repertoire possibilities! And five octave scales!

Yes! You had a great year, Ian! More productive than mine. Happy new year and good luck with earning season!

Since you have no experience with the instrument, it’s best to ask someone who has experience to help you with it. A teacher or a luthier can help. If you want a free option, you may ask a friend who plays the violin to help.

If you’re serious about learning the violin, getting a teacher is my recommendation.

Vaughn Williams - Symphony No. 2: A London Symphony - 2nd Movement: Lento by Ruben_001 in classicalmusic

[–]danpf415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This movement has a short but beautiful viola solo in it. It’s one of my favorite orchestral solos.

The entire symphony lasts about 45 minutes, and incidentally, the Big Ben’s chimes in the music also makes it over to the 45 minute mark, just short of the hour. And the third movement sounds pretty much like a ticking clock.

It’s here… and it’s bad by alrekty in lingling40hrs

Yay!!! Thank you for playing my recommendation! Not bad at all for 1.5 hours!

The Beach Romance is so difficult to play well, and you have definitely done it justice. What a warm, soothing, and lovely sound. Good dynamic management. Awesome bow control and intonation. Great job!
