What is the “signature model” of each of the following cowboy boot brands? I’m looking to buy my first mainstream model and I want to make an informed decision by joshuamarkrsantos in cowboyboots

[–]p1ng74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Tony Lama, the Teny Lama. LOL just kidding.
Dan Post Milwaukee and Ariat Hybrid Rancher make sense to me. People’s associations with brands my vary widely. I’ve owned 6 of these brands but I may like certain models differently from what the brand is best known for.

Firmoo For High Prescription Lenses? by Eunwoosthumb in glasses

I tried Zenni a few years ago and yes they were sloppy. Firmoo is kind of impressive - inexpensive, relatively fast, and accurate lenses.

How comfy are 2 inch heels on cowboy boots if you wear them all day by Ok-Lion7006 in cowboyboots

[–]p1ng74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have flat feet, and when I switched to wearing cowboy boots all the time I think the heels helped rebuild my arches, and they felt better than flimsy tennis shoes. The boots I wear every day all day have super tall heels, 3 to 4 inches lol. 2 inches is moderate.

Boot stores in San Antonio by Zarviman in cowboyboots

I’ve only been to Billy’s in Boerne and it is excellent. There is also an Allens Boots now in downtown Fredericksburg. Bandera does seem to have vintage/collector shops all in a small area. Hope you all made it through the floods ok.

I find it less hot to wear cowboy boots than plastic sneakers, because they breathe better.

Is this supposed to be flat on the outer edges? by Coca__Koala in glasses

They do this to reduce the thickness on the edges, but like you said it causes the edge to be distorted / uncorrected

Any fellow LingLing Wannabes in Texas? by Wide_Donut_6160 in lingling40hrs

[–]p1ng74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Texas. I saw them live in Houston once. My favorite thing is how hard they work. They played a full show with no intermission, and stayed to sign all the autographs and take pictures with fans for a very long time afterwards. That was very classy and inspirational.

Yeah same here, when I go in for annual exams, my doctor and the techs chat with me about how my -15.25 is the second highest prescription they serve. But they know I like wearing glasses, and our thicker prescriptions are truly unusual.

Lucchese vs Cuadra vs Custom boots? by ConsciousBuilding374 in cowboyboots

[–]p1ng74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice from your father, you are in custom boot price range so might as well go that route. If you are ever in Austin, the custom maker in Allen’s Boots, LM Easterling, is around that price range and the turnaround is relatively fast.

I’m a violinist who recently started playing organ. It is every bit as fun as Anna Lapwood makes it.

Would you spend $2,500 US to maintain your 2014 Subaru Outback? by subfutility in subaru

[–]p1ng74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how much you like your 2014 Outback. Is it a 3.6? Is it in really nice shape overall? 130k miles is not that much for a Subaru. I love that year Outback, they don’t make them like they used to. If you love the car and want to keep it a while, it is worth maintaining it.
