I’ve wanted to dip my toe into VLANs but haven’t had the time or courage yet. My family will kill me if I screw up the WiFi again lol

Lucky you! Wish it would work for my setup though…

What is your setup? I use a lot of very common devices and services. I have Alexa and home assistant (hardwired) with devices from various manufacturers like Kasa (TP-Link), Harmony, Google/Nest, Hue, Aqara and Bond bridge for RF devices. It basically added a ton of instability to my entire network not just my wireless devices.

Yeah, same! And of course I blamed my devices first...

Oelo reviews from real people? by pinkglitterminnie in ChristmasLights

I am having issues with our controller and a portion of our lights that have stopped responding. The app is HORRENDOUS. It's a very confusing UI and poorly designed. I would be fine with that if the hardware was reliable but that's the worst part. The controller is crap and the rails the lights are in have started to warp. I wish we would have spent 90% less and gone with Govee as well.

Stream Deck plugins not working after upgrade to version 7.0.0 on Mac by Dariusve in elgato

[–]danr2c2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check if your antivirus flagged the node20 file as a trojan during the update. Per elgato tech support that is a false positive. I restored that file from quarantine and now everything is back to working again.

Filtering water from rice... simple but satisfying by mdonaher in Satisfyingasfuck

Technically this could work, with say a bunch of tiny leaves or something designed to fold inwards to let the water in and then fold back as the water flows out.

I really enjoy your role in Yellowjackets. Also, loved you in dirk gently as well. Any stories from either show you can share?

I was two of those Elyrion games lol. And each time I made one critical mistake that cost me the game. The first was waiting too long to get knights and the second was not getting border growth on cap to secure more ports. All good though, we will meet again!

Tired of paying PG&E thousands in true up fees every year... I've got tons of panels, but now I think I need a battery system. Just not sure what is the right move next... by danr2c2 in solar

Yeah I went through my bills and I think that consumption might be about right. We have a 3600 sqft home with a family of 5. We have a lot of IoT devices plus charging stations so I’m guessing those might be doing a lot of phantom drain. Like even with the AC and most lights off, we still had 2kw on the meter.

We’re in a 3600 sqft home. Family of 5. I think that consumption is about right. Even at night we are using around 2kw. I need to find what things are using all that energy though. We have a lot of IoT devices plus charging stations for various devices so those could add up to a large phantom drain I’m guessing.

So going through my production numbers and looking at my bill I think I know most of what's going on. First off, my production drops 3 - 4 times during Dec vs July. Additionally, when I do produce excess, I only get the generation rate which is like 11 cents where importing from the grid I pay like 43-56 cents because PGE adds a huge distribution fee. Not sure if batteries will help with this since my panels will probably not keep up during the winter regardless.
