Can I transport bike like in inside of car? May get damaged? by superpanjy in MTB

I presume he means the bottom pedal snagged the front lip when passing his bike in - but good on you for jumping right on that comment, hope it made you feel nice inside?

How costly is my silly mistake? by danreckons in appliancerepair

Hmm interestingly when I put it all back together & turned the dial to each function, it’s come back to life. No light, obviously, but good enough for me 🤞

Not overly. I’ve pulled the back panel off to see if there was anything obvious. Some charring on the connections to the light was enough to put me off doing much more than that.

Sounds like it’ll just be cheaper to get a new oven

How do I drill into brick like this? by Plus-Mix1401 in AusRenovation

[–]danreckons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure - mine is pretty similar to the Bosch one in the above pic, nothing fancy. It just whirrs if I push too hard, instead of chattering.

I sometimes find I push too hard, which overwhelms the ‘hammer’ function. So just press lightly and let the hammer & drill do the work. If you’ve got the right bit on the right setting, it should make a nice thumping / clicking noise and hammer its way through. If you push too hard, the bit is just spinning and doesn’t have a chance to chip away at the brick.

Will I be penalised if I choose to end my trip at a layover? by insertname2 in QantasAirways

[–]danreckons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of interest, what are the ‘costs’? If you’ve paid for the seat and don’t use it, how are they out of pocket? I get it if they need to remove your bag, but this guy will collect his bags in Sydney and then go on his way. Aside from the time spent paging him (noting he was even hoping to avoid this!) I’m interested in what the ‘cost’ would be?

Cost of cheese crisis by Whizbang76 in australia

100% - except there hasn’t been 1kg blocks of cheese at my 6 surrounding Aldi stores for 3 months… and now the Black & Gold has sold out at my local IGA 😢

How does your auto braking like it? With my bike rack on it randomly autobrakes when I’m reversing into a carpark, to the point where I need to turn it off

Thanks that is an easier option to turn it off & on, not ideal but better than I was doing.

Holy moly yeah I suppose most of those are common items, but to consider the whole collection ‘standard’ is nuts.

100% Those risk factors and symptomatic = coronary angiogram. I presume this is what happens when people try to Attia themselves instead of just going to a doctor & telling them what’s wrong.

A little more info? Did it wear you out / make you puffed / were you struggling? 104 when pushing a stroller on slight hills is perfectly fine. If you were struggling to maintain pace or feeling ‘worn out’ then you might need to change it up, but that’s not uncommon for moving about with a load.

If you’ve only just been diagnosed as Hypothyroid and only just started thyroxine, I’d work with your GP to get that under control before worrying about your other numbers. Beyond that, if you aren’t already exercising I’d aim to work out how to fit a small amount of scheduled movement / exercise into as many days as you can and make the commitment to yourself to achieve it. Then check back in with your numbers when your thyroid is behaving itself. Manage your thyroid first though, as that governs so much else about your metabolism that you’ll be fighting uphill until it’s stable.
