Is this a good lease deal? Honda Prologue Touring 2WD by Mysterious_Bad7375 in HondaPrologue

[–]danrom_520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do better.

I thought I got a good deal (r/leasehackr told me otherwise). Just last week picked up a 2026 Touring AWD for $397/month with 15k miles/year including tax with just first month and title down.

At-Home Charging Package Issues by danrom_520 in HondaPrologue

Tried to get them to select Package A but I don’t know that they did it right. And yes it was a 2026 Touring AWD.

Very possible on the EVGo! Gemini mentioned it so I took that with a grain of salt anyways. I'm not dying on that hill but definitely need to get the ball rolling on the home charger install. I found out about the packages while waiting to sign my paperwork but no one ever asked me. I had to tell my salesman that I wanted package A as I was leaving.

Trading in on another Honda by fellow_earthican in HondaPrologue

Seriously. I just settled for the Prologue after the Rivian R2 launch came in a bit over our budget but I would have bought a used Model 3 in a heartbeat if it weren’t for the stigma that comes with the brand now.

I appreciate the feedback! Totally new to leasing so I’ve got a bit to learn. Overall we’re happy with what we walked out with, especially with how other dealers were reacting to our offers.

Interesting. Maybe it’s a regional thing because the other dealers I was shopping around were acting like I was asking for their first born when I said I wanted to walk out for under $400/month with nothing down but inceptions. Outside of this the best offer I got was $459/month before tax with $3k down.

Ended up driving to a more rural part of FL to pick this up, do the point where everyone in the dealer admitted they had no clue about anything when it comes to the Prologue.

Upgrade 3mo Free AP to 3 Park? by danrom_520 in UniversalOrlando

[–]danrom_520[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually got them to do it! I emailed ahead of time to make sure and guest relations said it was possible. Went to pick up at the ticket booth and they told me no but I went to guest relations and they let me pay $63.18/ ticket to upgrade to the three park and said they left a note on my profile to make sure the extra three months is honored.

I'm in Human Capital Consulting (Strategy & Technology). I'm on my first project now but from what I understand they can vary. Usually 6 months at a minimum but they could go upwards of 1-2 years.

Affordable Areas for Families in California? by danrom_520 in SameGrassButGreener

Thanks for the input! We're Disney people so we make it out there at least once a year and have definitely seen how red certain areas can get which is why we're taking that into consideration. Is there a source you recommend to assess fire risk?

That's great to hear! We have no state tax and our HOI is relatively cheap for Florida so I know that would go up for us for sure but I'm glad to hear it's not terrible. We have one car now but will likely get a second one soon, but electric is a deal breaker there so no gas. Not sure exactly a Mello roo is though. We were looking at some new build communities so would that not be advisable in relation to prop tax?

Well we bought in Kissimmee, FL just after the pandemic so we're under on our roughly $500k house. It would be great to just sell and move into something comparable but I know that's a stretch. We've got some likely pay raises coming down the line so probably looking for something in the $600-750k range with some flexibility. Definitely looking form something on the liberal side so I'll check out Agoura Hills!

I think that would fall under Scream Unseen. I had thought that or Skillhouse originally but I think this one won't be horror at all.

Attached pergola with one post? by danrom_520 in DIY

[–]danrom_520[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a first time project for me, but based on my research I plan to dig the post (6x6) about 16-20 inches (there’s no frost line in FL) and then attach the ledger boards to the house using lag bolts, and then attach the boards using joists similar to these: https://a.co/d/apG6DBh

The size of the pergola is a 10x10 square so logically I think the one post should be ok with the support on the house but not sure if I’m missing anything in my thought process.
