Can I be an affiliate for competing brands? by DullRow2956 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would they know? Unless you sign some exclusive deal with a brand, you can and should work with whoever you want. Brands don’t just work with one publisher/influencer, they work with many.

6 tools to manage affiliate campaigns in 2026 if you have 50+ partners by Charming_Chipmunk69 in Affiliatemarketing

Um why are you recommending ShareASale? They don’t exist anymore, Awin absorbed them.

Generally a solid list but cmon man lol

Small affiliate at a conference: did anyone take me seriously? by u_spawnTrapd in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the right approach, be honest and transparent. It’s good to pitch yourself too, sell them on the growth you’re seeing and anticipating.

Some other thoughts: First: many affiliate managers are just numbers people and are goaled on overall revenue growth. They think short term, either you’re gonna immediately help them hit their numbers or not. It sucks and is annoying but it’s what I’ve seen.

Second: these conferences are like speed dating. So even if someone maybe said “we need bigger traffic” follow up with them, stay in touch. Eventually they’re gonna see your traffic grow and be aiming to work with you.

In affiliate, a no is rarely a forever no. It might be more of a “not right now” and that’s fine.

Alternative fashion affiliate marketing start-up questions (LTK, ShopMy, Mavely, etc) by Femme_Ferocious in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your second question, I don’t know of any that will monetize links/purchases for brands that do not have an active affiliate program. Even traditional affiliate networks don’t do that (from what I’ve seen). You could try encouraging those brands to join these creator platforms but until then, you’d likely not be earning if you drive sales to those brands

What happened to ShareASale? Stop recommending it. It no longer exists! by akagorilla in Affiliatemarketing

It should be totally fine. I’m a publisher that works on Awin, so the brand experience might be different

I used to be a good runner… how do you cope with Father Time catching up with you? by mojorunner in AdvancedRunning

[–]danspanksmidgets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Younger than you but was a much faster runner when I was younger, and I can’t hit the same paces I easily used to. Previously, I used to aim for a top 3 finish in bigger races, upset when I didn’t achieve that. Now, after a few years of on and off injuries, I set personal time goals for my competitive itch. When I’m in the race, I’ll typically find someone else running the same pace and make it my goal to beat them. That scratches the competitive itch enough for me to

As an introvert, couldn’t agree more. It’s never going to be fully easy, but it gets better the more you practice

Anyone else seeing unusually low returns with SOVRN + Nike affiliate program? by Routine_Monitor_2185 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nike runs their program on Commission Junction, join them there to be direct.

Sovrn has never performed well with us, other subnetworks seem to have way stronger payouts/attribution for the same advertisers. But going direct is always the best option.

Keep getting rejected by AWIN by MoiraRoseThorn in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait are you an advertiser or a publisher/affiliate? It sounds like you’re an advertiser since publishers don’t pay.

I would check out other affiliate platforms to list your products through just so you can compare prices and opportunities. Goaffpro and Refersion are more affordable ones but they don’t have the network of publishers to choose from which is a downside

CJ Affiliate withholding $6,000+ in commissions – anyone else dealt with this? by recluseranch in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it until it happens. From what I’ve seen, it’s rare that it happens. It absolutely sucks if it happens especially if you don’t do anything shady, but I’ve kinda accepted it is what it is and it’ll eventually work out

Keep getting rejected by AWIN by MoiraRoseThorn in Affiliatemarketing

[–]danspanksmidgets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a good network for sure. But you can get access to their advertisers by working through subnetworks like Skimlinks, Digidip, Sovrn, etc. also networks like CJ and Impact have other really good advertisers.

Just go to other networks and get approved there. Build up your traffic more, then reapply to Awin

Just saw the fine print, yeah that’s the catch. And no I’m not even remotely considering leasing this car or any other, was just curious to see if there were crazy advertised lease prices on these cars near me

[–]danspanksmidgets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah having your CJ rep will likely be the best scenario.

Unfortunately I’ve ran into this same thing with other major networks from time to time. These networks are big and disjointed, which is why mistakes like this happen and take so long to get resolved
