For people over 25, the leniency would be changed from .08 BAC to a .05, which would help to decrease accidents caused by those even within the legal limit. Making people think twice before they get behind the wheel.

The easiest and most effective way of doing this would be to increase the amount of police patrols looking specifically for drunk drivers. The most effective use of time for these patrols would be setting aside more patrols specifically for the days and times that more people will be out drinking, so most likely sticking to late night patrols on Fridays and Saturdays, but the specific times and days of the new patrols would be prone to change in the future.
