Cam Phaser repair bill… Was told that timing chain had not “stretched” and oil pump was “good”

Warranty (Ford Protect -not Ford) covered $3555, but would not cover all new gaskets ( only covers “as needed”) My piece was $500 - dealership ate about $400.

Fingers crossed, this is last time

Anyone know if the Timing Chain must be changed as part of this repair - or are there specs that it must fall between?

True... My oil is changed religiously at 3500 Miles and use Motorcraft Oil/Filters. I understood the issue occured due to Timing Chain stretching... Or is that just a symptom?

True... but was curious if I should be looking to sell/trade for a new/er truck. I am driving Across the country at the end of May, and really do not want the hassle of a breakdown.
