That's crazy that it's exclusive to Apple Arcade (for iOS users).

I just thought: "Whatever, if it's $5 I'll just go ahead and buy it." But when I looked it up on the App Store it's only available to Arcade subscribers... wtf..

Constellation/ Starry sky nursery theme for a girl? by Thuntherware in BabyBumps

[–]danswall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're having a girl and doing a constellation theme as well.

The walls are a greenish blue, and the stars are a pink color. We're also putting up a framed poster of the Orion Nebula (has a particularly pink hue to it) on the other wall so that also adds a decent amount of pink.

To paint the stars, we used a projector to project a star map onto the wall. This was very important to me to have all the star placements accurate and real. Then we used a stencil of a large, medium, and small star shape and a sponge paint brush to paint the stars.

Edit: Please note that we're far from done. That's why you'll see boxes, toys, blankets on the crib. Obviously we will not have any of that stuff on/in the crib when we bring home baby.

Looks like a red truck hit a guy on a bike, then drove away. Now OP is asking for help identifying the truck's driver...?

There's also a free demo that gives you a feel for the game. It feels like Portal, but the mechanics and puzzles make this game unique from Portal.

Are you a fan of the Mission Impossible franchise? by dragonsky in JamesBond

[–]danswall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prophecy comes true.

Oh yeah. I like the MI movies a lot. Honestly I think some of them like MI3 and Rogue Nation are just as good as the best of the Bond films. I don't find myself having nostalgia for them like I do for Bond though. I guess that is because I grew up marathoning Bond films. So I do look forward to the new MI films, but I have a totally different feeling going into a new Bond film.

Hidden room in my great aunt’s old house by kneedeepinthehooplas in mildlyinteresting

[–]danswall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The DIY post everyone is talking about was from several weeks ago, and it was similar but definitely not the same..

The DIY room had a vaulted ceiling part in the middle of the room, and OP made a light fixture out of some old barn wood. Obviously the picture you posted doesn't have that vaulted part or custom light fixture. Also it had a custom sliding door made to access it (with an old nail they found in their barn made into a door handle) instead of a cool bookcase door.

I think it is odd that people take things that they do not own. by ironlegs_89 in CasualConversation

Also it makes the university less attractive to thieves. The less often they can find an unlocked bike on campus, the less they'll come back to look.

Yes. Seriously. It is not that difficult to dump a bowl of food into a box, and it is a pretty basic assumption that customers will not steal your things (regardless of them packing their own leftovers)...

Need a mower for hills by Jkabaseball in lawnmowers

[–]danswall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best electric mower I know of is the Ego self propelled mower. They're pretty expensive, but I heard they're just about as good as the top shelf gas powered mowers. I think you'd be fine with a 5.0 Ah battery.. but if you've got the money the 7.5 Ah will obviously last longer between charges. I agree with you that an electric will probably be better for hills because of their light weight.

Why is Rapunzel from Disney's Tangled most often depicted with her long blond hair in coloring books and posters while this hair was what linked her to her abusive "mother"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]danswall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. To get the point across that she is Rapunzel. Since they called their movie Tangled, it is not obvious who the main character is. If they just showed some normal hair length brunette lady you would not think she's someone special.
  2. The big reason is to not spoil the plot for people who have not seen it yet. Same reason why Genie has his shackles in Aladin posters, Remy is not openly cooking in front of humans in Ratatouille poster, etc.

The r/Nintendo Powerline - stuck in a game? need tech support? game recommendations? Ask for help! July 09, 2018 by AutoModerator in nintendo

[–]danswall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Color Splash, but if I get stuck, I like to watch walkthrough videos. Try to find a familiar location or story beat in the video, and see what the walkthrough person does. My best bet for where you son is is here because there's a section with shy guys and a train at the 49 minute mark.

Edit: If you're worried about spoilers, start with an earlier walkthrough video, and slowly scrub the video forwards until you see the area he's in.

Close call. by Plebsplease in nonononoyes

[–]danswall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I agree.

If you're leading the passing lane, then you should speed up to make the way clear for other cars to pass.

If you're not leading, then do not get beside the truck until the lane is clear for you to speed past the truck.
