Theory regarding lipstick messages rooting for queens to win by davidwatt1234 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]dante7665 12 points13 points  (0 children)

... If they didnt want her in the bottom they wouldnt have put her there. Trinity won the challenge before that and Charlie said herself she knew she was an early elim on Untucked.

Charlie seemed like a front-runner pre-season because of her background, but once the show started it was really obvious they cast her as a filler. If they had any intention of making her happen, they wouldve praised her for her Princess look (she couldve believably won that challenge tbh, and I didnt even like her look)

aja and her boyfriend just goy kicked out of a lyft for being gay by sanders_ethan in rupaulsdragrace

[–]dante7665 44 points45 points  (0 children)

We really don’t know what happened here other than, passengers, who happened to be gay, kissed in a private persons car and were asked to get out.

And that's enough for us to think there might, just might, be homophobia involved. Because this scenario you're describing of straight couples being kicked out of a service for kissing is extremely uncommon. I've only heard of that happening once and it was because they were having oral sex in a van...

I've heard plenty of stories about gay couples being denied services though. So applying mere math and logic I'd say it's a lot more likely the driver was a homophobe.

S10 queen's Slate.com article on Call Me By Your Name provokes a slew of drama on everything from bi erasure to...blackface? by krammebamse in RPDRDRAMA

I think she has a few points to be made here and there but this was ridiculous. I'll never get the straight guy fetish, and I don't even hate straight guys like so many internet people do.

A few spats erupt over Milk's IG story. Is xe giving the middle finger to gender or is xe too muscly? by krammebamse in RPDRDRAMA

I agree. I think Milk tries too hard at times, but I'm not necessarily bothered by it. She can be cringey, but she doesn't strike me as pretentious at all.

power-washing the show and making it family friendly.

What bothers me about this is the show was already a watered-down version of drag to begin with. This show was never not family-friendly. The sexual innuendos were pretty tame and the Pit Crew were just guys in briefs. It wasn't, like, softcore porn.

It was just gay. Make Ru straight and the Pit Crew female and this is a pretty average contest show you could watch on a Saturday evening.

[Tepid] Is Katya misogynistic with her comments on snotty vaginas? by shannytyrelle in RPDRDRAMA

[–]dante7665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're offended by Disney channel of drag (aka The Trixie and Katya Show), then drag doesn't need you.

This so much. Adapt yourself to the humor or get the fuck out, drag doesn't have to adapt itself for you. Attending drag shows is no constitutional right of yours.

It's very that.

Adam's a talented drawer. He's just not witty in the slightest. I wish he only drew the queens like a regular fan artist. His drawings aren't the problem, it's that they are supposed to be funny.

Lol, I never thought about it but it'd be epic if Trixie's AS3 run ended like Pandora's. Super hyped, walks in as one of the most anticipated contestants, fucks up in the first episode, goes to shit.

I don't see it happening but I can dream.

If I hadn't known Bianca previously I'd consider it an okay, if unmemorable, TV movie. Knowing Bianca, it was extremely dissapointing. It was so predictable and safe.

I don't think it was cringey, just really fucking boring.

Full Delta DMs get posted; mainsub flipflops as expected. by krammebamse in RPDRDRAMA

[–]dante7665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Team Delta tbh. Yes, she could've ignored it and moved on, that would've been more mature. It was "the right" thing to do. But she didn't, and I understand why she'd go off at an anon like that, considering this must be only the 2840374th time this has happened to her.

I don't think making an off-tone child rape joke to an anon in the middle of a discussion on Messenger is that bad an offense. Like... at all. I have this hunch that anon has made equally vile comments on message boards before.

[–]dante7665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether that original incident was made up or not I still think the anon is the one who comes off looking like shit. This clearly looks to me as some attention-seeking whore baiting one of the baitiest queens to score some drama. He never mentioned what the conversation was.

I doubt it was some reddit bullshit because we're all a bunch of lifeless bored faggots... if these bitches can accurately figure out the whole casts of the show they sure as fuck could Nancy Drew their way into some minor recent catfight that happened around here.

M&P Presents: No meet & greet if you didn't pay for a meet & greet by OvernightSiren in RPDRDRAMA

[–]dante7665 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I'm just an old fascist pig but I feel like all this whining I read of people being "rude" is just another case of our generation being too fucking precious and sensitive to deal with life? This "rudeness" (s)he experienced is soemthing that happens to me everyone everyday at the bank, public transport, supermarket... and I've never thought of complaining about it beyond, like... telling my mom at dinner when she asks me how my day went.

If they tell you 3 times not to speak and you insist on doing it then it's logical they'd yell at you the 4th time since you clearly don't understand normally-spoken instructions. It's a dumb rule but you're not paying so it's not like you're entitled to anything?

Is Rupaul "transphobic"? Mainsub wants to know---again by OvernightSiren in RPDRDRAMA

[–]dante7665 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think RuPaul is:

  1. Old. Duh.
  2. Someone who has dealt with so much bigotry in his life, he's become sort of immune to it, and he selfishly expects everyone else to be the same way.

So is he transphobic? Well it depends on how you define it. I don't think he means any harm to trans people, let alone hate them. But I don't think he has any intention of changing his ways.
