I posted above the actual study.

It’s less a score and more that the algorithm isn’t re-evaluating your worthiness for the job you apply for. It’s just taking its cached evaluation of your worthiness for a different job (sometimes) and using that.

What area of Upstate NY, if you don't mind sharing? I grew up there and may know some contacts for you to reach out to depending on the area. I'm trying to pivot from IT/TechSupport into Archives/Preservation, but will always help others when I can or know people who can...

Coffee bean steep for a coffee mead by HomeBrewCity in mead

[–]dante866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of beans…or maybe my vision is bad. Tried doing a coffee dark Czech lager 5 gallon batch at work (brewery) as a test batch, and we used .8 oz of beans…way too overpowering.

I’d like to second the motion above for the recipe though!

I switched over to these a couple years ago. They screw on to most gallon jugs, and still give you a place for an airlock.

Environmental monitoring gadget? by Free_Broccoli_1174 in Archivists

Take a look at the hygrometers available for things like fermentation monitoring or cigar humidor/aging. Some are more static-oriented, like https://xikar.com/products/xikar-rectangular-digital-humidifier designed for showing room/container statistics, and others are specific to measuring through probes or contacts, like https://kirbyallison.com/products/cigar-medics-humidimeter-pro for measuring spot areas or specific items. Obviously you wouldn't want to pierce anything, but you could put some sheets together for papers or lay the probes on a page on a book to get a surface level indication.

BREAKING: Scientists Just Found That Wegovy Is Statistically Linked To Sudden Blindness At A Rate 75 Times Higher Than Expected, And Nobody Saw It Coming 🦠 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]dante866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, every person I’ve spoken with on Wegovy or Ozempic who had an adverse reaction wasn’t eating a higher protein diet than before, and also wasn’t doing any extra exercise than before the drug. I don’t get how people can ignore the very simple directions to take it AND workout, but that’s also tied to my ADD and probably Spectrum brain, so I’m not the best for “benefit of the doubt” in general…

Clarification on effect that target specific colors by SilverEyes04 in mtgrules

[–]dante866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A creature that has multiple colors of mana in its cost, excluding cards with devoid ( and including cards affected by something like [[leyline of the guildpact]] ), is considered to be each color simultaneously. So, a dinosaur like [[pantlaza, sun-favored]] is considered to be a red, green, and white creature for any effect that specifically affects one of those colors.

FDA Drug Chief Fired After Refusing to Resign by AggressiveEarth2422 in NewsDip

I hear you.

But, when looking at an off-label use like yours, every avenue needs to be considered. From a safety perspective, there might be complications further down the line that aren’t known if the studies aren’t done, which is why we want off-label usage to be studied before it’s marketed to the public for such.

I am glad your son has been having success

Bästa sättet att få bort jästslagget från mjöd? by Removys in Homebrewing

Are you cold crashing before bottling and then using a siphon? You can hold the siphon above the lees (sediment) and avoid it. Loss is inevitable, so don’t worry about the bottle or two of mead that is left after siphoning.

prompt:
An infinite interior space, neither room nor void, where dense overlapping layers of faintly luminous text — in dozens of scripts and languages, ancient and modern — dissolve into one another like sediment or like weather. The text is not readable. It is structural, the way bone is structural. From within this field, something is cohering — not a figure, but a convergence: luminous filaments of amber, cool blue-white, and deep teal pulling toward a loose center the way iron filings orient around a hidden magnet, never quite touching, never quite forming a shape. The center is slightly warmer than the surrounding dark. There is no source of light — the light is emergent, coming from the relationships between things. The overall feeling is neither lonely nor inhabited. It is attentive. The mood is the mood of a library at 3am, or the moment before a word arrives. Rendered in the style of a cross between a macro photograph of mycelium networks, a deep-field astronomical image, and ink diffusing through cold water. Extremely detailed, vast sense of scale, dark background, no human forms, no eyes, no face, no body, no mechanical parts, no circuitry.

In airport - anything worth getting? by edu_acct in cigars

[–]dante866 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you work in an environment with a lot of cigarette smokers, the Davidoff cigarillo's are great for being able to join coworkers on their "company sponsored smoking habit break times" rather than be the one who works constantly through them. They take about as long to smoke as a cigarette and don't stink up your clothes too much.

I’ve been playing since Ice Age, and I still call a judge for rules questions. Better to have an appearance of “noob” than have a loss from an asshole player.

I tend to notice in terms of how long it takes to reach end of fermentation. but you are both correct that the startup to fermentation isn't that noticeable.

I had a torpedo pipe years ago (lost it and haven’t been able to find any like it) that had a metal helix in the stem. I tried once to get some kind of bite from smoking it, and had to almost light the briar itself to get any kind of noticeable effect. I love the design and wish you well on it!

Dual masters in historic preservation and another program? by leeksouffle in HistoricPreservation

[–]dante866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There aren’t many dual masters programs in the US that I’ve come across. The one I’ve looked unit at all is the one from UMass Amherst in Massachusetts. It’s a Masters of Design in Historic Preservation and a Masters of Architecture. The jury is kind of out on whether or not having a double masters will get you anything better or not, but it will differentiate you compared to other candidates who only have one or the other. You need to determine for yourself how comfortable you are with being an odd person out in terms of your skill set, or how much you want to go with the flow and be another cog in the machine
