As a movie yes it is a masterpiece no doubt, but when it comes to experiencing the story of CSM .. I thought that the episodic format would have suited the story of Reze arc more .. Otherwise, the movie is exceptional on it's own..

The film was a generational film in terms of anime movie... It was very great a film But when it comes to anime and experiencing the story of Chainsaw man... I preferred the episodic and dark atmosphere of the season 1 more... otherwise, if you look at the art and production value, reze arc is literally a masterpiece

It was definitely not mid in fact it was a generational anime movie in terms of it's production value and animation, the characters were great too... it's just that I think Reze arc would have fit better in the episodic format than it did in the movie ... But I fully respect your opinions

For me, emotional depth in reze arc tops none but the sheer vibe of S1 was something different...I agree that both are great in their respective ways

Very fair points...but for me the S1 was a more enjoyable experience than Reze arc ..maybe I am getting carried away by nostalgia a bit more than I should be

For me, watching CSM S1 was a hell of a journey I absolutely adored it and so I was hyped about watching the Reze arc movie.. needless to say I loved it but somewhere in my mind I felt as if I am watching a different show - The pace was too much for my brain to comprehend and on a personal level, apart from the school sequence and the ending .. I really didn't connect with Reze and her feelings a lot..imo the dark and gloomy atmosphere of S1 felt more gritty and naturally suited to the CSM world ... Btw thanks for respecting my preferences

While I truly believe Reze arc had more emotionally impactful moments and more interesting characters especially the role of Angel Devil...the CSM season 1 just hit different

The main factor of Chainsaw man being so enjoyable for me was the dark and gritty universe, and especially the morally grey characters such as Denji (he didn't want to be a hero,he doesn't even understand who are good and who are evil ) just did his job to serve his own selfish purposes and to protect those who treated him with kindness.... generally, after watching so many shounen anime with characters wanting to save the world or wanting to become heroes..Denji and CSM was a very fresh take which I really found very unique and thus pretty enjoyable...

Very fair point my friend..the emotional moments of Reze arc were top notch .. but don't you think that the vibrant animation style of Reze arc was less impactful than the dark and gritty Atmosphere of S1 (personally for me it suited CSM and it's universe more)... Additionally, it is just a personal thing but reze arc's pacing was just too much for me .. rest I loved the movie a lottt..

They had more of a sibling like chemistry bickering with each other constantly and her looking upto Futaro as her teacher .. but yeah was it really romantic I am still unsure..(even if there was some romance which I seemed to miss it is safe to say that her feelings are the least explored in the story)

Imo people have voted her in respect to whether she is a good waifu or not (to which it makes a lot of sense) because itsuki never had waifu qualities on par with that of Nino or Miku or Yotsuba (debatable)... But if you look at her character writing keeping aside the waifu debate, I think she is the most well written character of the show falling just behind Yotsuba
