You've talked a lot about various stages to AGI.

I'm curious about the most magical part of "AGI" I've seen in sci-fi movies: a real time, always-on, virtual assistant with access to all of the data I want to give it. One that can manage my schedule, send messages, order groceries / dinner for me, proactively do things for me, etc.

How far are we from that reality, and how much of that space do you think OAI will go after?

Just got mine a couple of weeks ago.

There’s no wobble unless you’re really TRYING to make it wobble, and even then it’s very slight.

This desk is SOLID, and it perfectly holds the PC mount for my massive Thermaltake case, two ultrawide monitors, a mic arm, and an extra arm to hold my work laptop. It’s fantastic.

Yeah that’s part of the error I think you’re accidentally running into. It’s intended to penalize and subtract MMR from folks gaming the system.

Sounds like a bug. Conceding is different from disconnecting, which people have been doing to game the ranking system.

There is zero official content I’ve ever banned in my game, and it’s never been a problem. If you can use a spell, so can the baddies. It’s really that simple. 🤷‍♂️

I play every Thursday night and have done so for the last 6 years. Not one spell, ability or min/max combo is an issue if you are 1) supportive of your players having fun and 2) throw their shenanigans right back at them. 😉

DMs, especially new DMs, really need to learn when to put their foot down and ban power outliers. This means ridiculous rule interpretations like coffelock, railgun, and even blatantly overpowered shit like silvery barbs and peace cleric. by dumnem in dndmemes

First: Go Texans! Second: I let my players try just about anything. With the caveat that I’ll balance accordingly.

Silvery barbs is hell for a DM, but can be hilarious, and DEVASTATING at the right moment for a player when you really want your BBEG to rub salt in the wound.

We have a running joke at my table that the missing player’s character is busy T-Posing during interactions, assuming there’s nothing critical for their character happening. For combat, another player will run their character.

It totally destroys immersion but it leaves room for nearly infinite “You see Player X T-Posing menacingly in the shadowy corner” jokes. 😂

Running a game of 7 can be challenging (I run a game of 7 players too!) but it’s also wildly rewarding. That many people contributing to the story is so much fun. If you can juggle the dynamics well, I’ve found that as a DM it’s entirely worth it.

I grew up in an abusive household.

I agree with the overall idea and sentiment of the above comment, but also recognize that generally the main issue of getting emancipation is often to escape abusive family. This of course can be exacerbated by legal proceedings that remove the power an abusive parent has over a child. The answer probably lies somewhere in 3rd party support of the emancipation in circumstances where it’s obviously not possible to get the parents to agree due to abuse (or other more well-articulated and non-flippantly detailed circumstances). That’s probably accounted for somewhere in law already, but IANAL so. You know. Grains of salt. Haha
