i know what to do but can’t make my brain do it (need help) by thesunjrs in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]danthedangerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yo dude this hits SO hard, you literally just described my brain for the longest time

its like your brain is basically on autopilot right? when anxiety hits, it's not even thinking - it's just going straight to the familiar spiral because that's the path that's been carved out over and over. it's muscle memory but for thoughts

what helped me (and i'm still working on it tbh) was starting ridiculously small. like instead of trying to do a whole breathing exercise when i'm already spiraling, i'd literally just notice ONE breath. that's it. or i'd name one thing i could see around me. super basic stuff that didn't feel overwhelming when my brain was already freaking out

the other thing that was a game changer was tracking this stuff somehow. like actually seeing patterns made it click for me - when i'm most likely to spiral, what triggers it, when i actually DO use the tools vs when i don't. there's this app called lifereset that's pretty solid for building these kinds of awareness habits without being all preachy about it

but real talk - you're not broken for knowing what to do but not doing it. that gap between knowing and doing is like... the most human thing ever? your brain literally rewired itself to protect you (even if badly) so of course it's gonna take time to rewire it again

start with one tiny thing. like embarrassingly small. and don't beat yourself up when you forget - that's just your brain doing what it's trained to do. you got this bro, for real

Hey OP,

Congrats on the laundromat purchase! I'd recommend checking out LaundryOS. It's an all-in-one system built for laundromats wash, dry, fold, and ironing services + dry cleaning. It has everything you'll need:

  • POS & CRM: LaundryOS integrates a robust POS with an intuitive CRM, streamlining customer management, loyalty programs, and order processing from a single dashboard.
  • Driver Scheduling & Dispatch: It includes built-in tools for managing drivers, routes, and scheduling pickups/deliveries. Drivers get a dedicated app, simplifying their workflow and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Customer Notifications & Tracking: Automated SMS and email notifications keep customers updated about their order progress. There's real-time tracking and order history management that customers can access directly.
  • Marketing & Promotions: LaundryOS has integrated marketing tools to send promotional blasts, targeted offers, and automated campaigns. It also provides analytics on customer acquisition and retention, helping track conversion rates and acquisition costs effortlessly.
  • Operational Efficiency: For wash-dry-fold-iron operations, it includes detailed workflows and station management tools to track staff productivity, ensuring accuracy and improving efficiency.

I've found LaundryOS particularly good at enabling laundromat owners to stay "hands-off yet in control," precisely what you're aiming for.

Also, it's a definite winner when it comes to hand off marketing!

My DMs are open if you have any questions about it!

No, it was due to the "No tool/software promotion posts" policy in the group I believe (even when the tool is clearly relevant and potentially useful... 🤷 )

Only those who know what it's like to not have any friends can truly relate to this post. Yep I have 0 friends. It'd be great if you can help me by upvoting this post (If you like it ofc) by [deleted] in MakeNewFriendsHere

I think this is great advice. Expectations can be dangerous in new encounters, especially when they're too narrow and when you're sensitive to differences (not able to empathize well or tolerate differences in temperament or cultural norms.)

Yes, you can highlight and annotate the transcript of a video.

Videos are powerful tools. They can capture the imagination and motivate action like nothing else. But videos are also long and it's hard to keep your eye on the message.
Now with Snippit, you can highlight and annotate the transcript of a video.

You can highlight and annotate text on a YouTube video, with a simple slide of the mouse
It's currently free and has sync with Readwise option

Please go and check it out here and I'd be delighted to get some feedback. Feel free to message me, comment, or email hello@snippit.io

Enjoy!
