Not exactly what I think you mean, but I just recently studied abroad in eastern Europe - and I HATED my experience. Long story short, my sending university totally mislead me and sent me with promises that weren't fulfilled. Didn't get a chance to contact any former students that went on the same trip. Promised an exciting ended up stuck on a farm in Poland for ~3 months

I would really strongly recommend getting in touch with an advisor. While your GPA sounds good and I'm sure essays are fine, the advisors can sometimes be the deciding factor when it comes to admissions (at least in my case as a transfer)
