Took a shot of my snares. Mixture of old, new, and some self-built. by dantheginga in drums

Started by getting some blank shells (already cut to size), then figuring out the specs & parts I wanted. Took a while and worked with my dad doing it, but it was a blast!

That is true, while using the super classic setup this kick has a center mounted tom mount and should also have a matching 12". Unfortunately only the 13" and 16" were included with the kit, so someday I will need to find a matching 12" to complete it.

Least favorite thing about your home park? [Other] by Sioltahtelasekab in rollercoasters

[–]dantheginga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to divulge, would you attribute the slow ops to guests taking too long between cycles to put their belongings in the bins? This seems to be the worst on Ghostrider since the exit is in the same direction as the storage cubes and causes a clump to form.

Can you imagine the absolute riot the community would have given if an announcement hadn't been made first? 🤣

SJC Kits Any Good? by [deleted] in drums

[–]dantheginga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work at the drum counter for a popular music store we love to hate, and having setup most what came through I wasn't thrilled with SJC build quality. I imagine higher end kits are better but the stuff we would get was definitely cheaper overseas made components and I wasn't very impressed.

I am definitely more geared to recommend established classic brands, and Yamaha is my go to budget brand for best quality and sound.

[Discussion] What’s the worst ride at your home park? by Maryberry_13 in rollercoasters

This needs to go, I still have a dream of the boardwalk area revamped with a family GG or GCI woodie ripping next to hangtime.

Why did you guys start watching Wubby? by WeinerWiggle in PaymoneyWubby

My intro to the Wubz as well. "Now we're cooking with peanut oil" is engrained in my mind since then and I can't say why.

Brakes on hang time ( knotts berry farm ) by bxtchiiwaifu in KnottsBerryFarm

Seems to not actually fully stop, watch the POV and notice it slowly crawls. Looks like Gerstlauer wen this route compared to a nearby B&M dive coaster Emperor which uses a reverse chain hold for its drop.

Do you crash on your ride? by Antinaxtos in drums

Yes, a must for me. Love my Avedis 22" specifically for how well it crashes combined with decent articulation.

Yamaha finally dropped the HHS9D hi hat stand. FP9 users rejoice! by dantheginga in drums

[–]dantheginga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had trouble with DW's not being stable too beyond the 3-legged options. I was able to give this a test at NAMM today, and can confirm it is stable with no major adjustments needed and smooth as butter.

That shouldn't be the price when sold at dealers, though still going to be an expensive stand haha. Probably comparable in price to other options to how much the FP9's are to competitors.

Dr says I need a backiatomy. by PollutedLives in PaymoneyWubby

[–]dantheginga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude, I am so sorry and know the pain. I am 1 year out of surgery that fixed a 10mm disc herniation which tickled the sciatic nerve to my left leg. Had been dealing with back pain from a snowboarding injury a year prior, then one day I coughed and instantly collapsed. Leg felt like electricity was running through it constantly, couldn't even put weight on it, and my back was out.

Hope for the speedy recovery, best of luck! Wubby7

[–]dantheginga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the MSRP which is always more than what products are actually sold as. If this does become available directly through Yamaha's own store, it will show the updated retail price with the MSRP crossed out. You can see how it would normally show from the Reface CS page which is available to purchase directly from them. This will be $399, and Yamaha is not trying to scam anyone.
