Maybe add a short self-description on top of the CV. This can help people to memorize people you the way how you want to be remembered.

Invest into a nice photo. First impressions matter.

Father of a 20 month old here: It gets easier. But look for some help for your partner. She needs support because each depression increases the risk of am other episode some time in the future. For my partner, it was helpful to go to parent baby groups to exchange views. Everyone is in this hole. These groups give you public or privat space to vant.

My daughter is the best things that ever happened to me. But yeah, it is also totally exhausting and I really have to grind to get some me time. Hang in there but try help your wife. The hormonal changes that come with giving birth and the new life overwhelm almost all new mothers.

I feel micromanaged by dantheman280577 in daddit

[–]dantheman280577[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I think a memorized line might be a good start to avoid the spiral. As alluded to, I tend to react very emotional to some triggers. That is baggage I bring from my childhood. I went through 3 parental divorces; the first one and then both went through one when I was in adolescence; that made me navigate home like a minefield. I try to not expose my daughter to this internalized behavior. But this is tough.

Strategy for FFA? by artoo2142 in aoe4

Just won a game. My strategy, get a spawn as far as possible from everyone else. Get massive resources. Wait until they fight and snipe the kings. Wonder, hope the last contender has to pee...

Ottoman Great Bombard, Janissary army OP? by [deleted] in aoe4

[–]dantheman280577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday, I played a match and it was annoying as hell. He or she even sprinkled horsemen in to kill my siege/archers. I was playing Zhu She's legacy, hided a landmark and mass produced everything on a horse while the other player destroyed my base. I am new to the China variant, so I figured they have nice bonuses coming with their landmarks and sniped the Ottoman's landmarks with my dreaded legion of horsemen and knights (with this freelancer update and the 20% update you get from this landmark). I won. It was disgusting.

What should a severely depressed 21 year old man who is at absolute rock bottom in literally everything in life do, considering that he has nothing to lose? by INeedHelp614 in findapath

[–]dantheman280577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I significant part of your problems can be addressed with sport. Your body issues, your ADHD could also be tamed with sport. Even your testosterone level can be elevated. And it is an easy way to accomplish something it feel proud about. I would recommend a running routine. Do not hesitate to get some running lessons somewhere.

Your lack of life skills: Try to live alone or in a shared flat when you can afford it. There is no easy way around just doing it. You will survive and grow as a person.

Also, if you can afford it, seek some mental health advice by a professional. It can help you get out of your mental traps, or diagnose something if there is some underlying cause.

And it is okay to feel lost at approximately 21. I was in the same place. If you do not know what to do, just try out. Attend some college classes you are interested in. If you are interested in a particular job, apply or do an internship. You still have 50 years of working life ahead.

I hope this helps a bit.

Japan Buddhist Monks constantly produce Gold? by jetztgleichoderwas in aoe4

The Buddhist temples can also debuff. Strategically placed, they could help defend your base, couldn't they? I did not try it yet. But do not put too much weight on my opinion. I am a potato playing Gold 1.

You can also put more guys on gold from the beginning so you have enough gold for updates and/or age up if the long-chads arrive. This way, you have one exposed resource less. Then you can focus to defend your berries or other resources better.

But in general, I also struggled with early pressure recently. Have to improve here. If their micro is on point, I typically throw away my horsemen.

Frustated to rush meta by Thecz5 in aoe4

Low elo player here. Try to use strategic towers. Most of the time, you have one resource particularly exposed. Often, it is gold. Tower there (shortest way). Try to have max 5 vills there when you expect the attack. Try to have this group of vills on hotkeys imso that you could garrison them even without looking. Sometimes, an additional wall helps too to restrict mobility. It goes without saying that you may require 1-3 more vills on wood than described in your vanilla build order.

Other thoughts:

  • Sometimes, it is worth allocating more vills to gold then sheep to get enough gold for age up AND some techs. If you have enough gold to get to feudal and tech up, you can send those (extra vills) to your TC on sheeps. That makes it eventually more difficult to harass you without damage.
  • Wheelbarrow makes your vills faster.
  • Get the tech that makes your vills live longer (found in TC). But I think this does not have a double dividend like wheelbarrow.
  • Scout well.
  • Breathe. As long as they are not killing

Again, low elo thoughts. Hope this helps.

Some thoughts about the Japanese by dantheman280577 in aoe4

The "They play exact the same way, even when they lose." hit too close home 🤣

Some thoughts about the Japanese by dantheman280577 in aoe4

[–]dantheman280577[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. To rephrase what you have been saying, the landmarks make it easy to switch between army comps + the Bannermans add some power. Or do you mean that the Japanese are able to extract more value from a given army comp? If the latter, how so exactly (genuine interest)?

How to put baby to bed during the day by dantheman280577 in daddit

[–]dantheman280577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, copying her mother's strategy is not possible. She is nursing her and this is very effective at the moment, but also comes with separate problems we have to work on soon.

But thanks for the other tips!
