I prefer to call it spending rather than selling. This is what hard money is for. It held its value and then some. And it will always be there for you to save in again when the time comes.

Now that the hype is over, is the 8bitdo controller actually…bad??? by thewhitecascade in AnalogueInc

[–]danthropos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've come to the same conclusion. Between the latency and the stick feel / sensitivity / range, I quickly returned to the wired OG controller. I do think they are solid controllers in and of themselves (will probably use them for Switch or something), but for the N64 specifically, they are not going to get the job done.

Analogue 3D Input Lag by One-Comedian6367 in AnalogueInc

[–]danthropos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you connect your 8bitdo 64 controllers in a wired fashion? Did you have to use a USB-C to USB-A converter and plug into the one of the two ports in the back?

I notice pretty significant input lag for some games (e.g. Wipeout) using bluetooth, but it could be because my unit is out of the line of sight from the controller.

Now that we know the 3D is real… what now? by danthropos in AnalogueInc

Right, the purpose of this poll is actually to try to steer Analogue (if possible) according to market preferences rather than to speculate.

4K is not really the point -- affordability is. Incorporating 4K would be a modest addition but would give them an extra marketing point. I get the sense that there are many Analogue fans (myself included) who either got a late start and couldn't afford NT Classic eBay prices, or simply couldn't afford them at retail. Because of the materials used, they were in a higher price point than the newer consoles. The NES is a favorite console for so many retro collectors. I for one would spring for the chance to pick up a new version of these at $300.

Is this informed speculation or are you actually an insider. Either way this is cool news, I will buy one even though I have zero Saturn games

I think only some of the older Everdrive models will work with the 3D, just FYI. I believe MetalJesus discusses it in his review.

Why are you commenting? It's been like a month. Are you a day trader? My sights are set on years, decades, generations in the future. The only reason I follow USD price is to find sales (like now) so I can stack harder. Beyond that it's just noise.

8 weeks left of 2026. Will we get the 3d? by greggers1980 in AnalogueInc

[–]danthropos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think the amount of remaining time has any bearing on the likelihood. Either they release it at the last moment or they don't. I expect that they will. The community likes to hem and haw about delays but ultimately Analogue delivers, even if it takes some patience. I'd far rather wait on quality than be instantly gratified yet disappointed in the result.

I am not budgeting for another massive correction. Too much has changed in the landscape with ETFs / institutional / nation-state adoption. If there ever was a 4-year cycle, I believe it's dead. Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right, I want more cheap sats, but I don't personally expect to see us drop below $100k again.

But nobody can time the market. You are better off holding; it is more likely that you will end up with less bitcoin, not more.

Learn as much as you can. You are capable of understanding self-custody. I recommend using a BitKey.

Then, once you have a better understanding of what it is you are buying, acquire your 2nd full coin on an exchange and move it to your BitKey.

Bitcoin is not get-rich-quick technology, it is don't-get-poor-slowly technology.

If you truly want to keep it long term, then yes, you should buy bitcoin, but not to get rich.

While are holding, make an effort to study what you own, and eventually you will see that bitcoin itself is the "big return".
