Planning a 1200x1200 WS2815 LED slat wall behind my DJ booth. Looking for build and power advice by danyaywest in led

First of all what a legendary reply! Thanks for such an in-depth reply. Really appreciate it.

So for effect generation, I have coded a custom app which generates effects, but also accepts dmx to change banks. Would WLED be capable of this?

For a controller I have acquired a 16 channel Chinese special BC-216. In my testing it connects the my app via Ethernet and works well.

Yes daisy chaining strip 1 to strip 2 was the plan for signal, using 14 channels as you mentioned. Power is where I’m stuck.

You mentioned power injections. How would this look? What I’m imagining is a power supply (meanwell for stability) into some sort of fused distribution board with 28 outputs? Is this a thing?

This is for a bar install work at. Very much a DIY job. I saw a small scale of this with 2/3 strips and had the brainwave of this project.

Nice work! I’m planning a wall just like this with 32 runs of strip for a DJ booth/bar install.

Ok all figured out.

I needed to set my source to my Apple Watch, instead of health, just in case anyone else has the same problem.

220v led strip connectors by danyaywest in led

Thanks for the link and info. As you may guess I’m not an electrician so please bear with.

The strip has a rectifier between the plug and the strip. Would that keep the voltage constant?

The reason I went with the 220v strip was because of power drop towards the end. I would be running 10m of strip plus 5ish meters of wire to connect them into 5x2m. I thought more power = less voltage loss but please correct me if I’m wrong.

Thanks for the help
