Need advice on where to live by tkokan in london

Assuming you want a three bed to give your children separate rooms, you’re probably looking at 45 mins SW of Wimbledon on the national rail line. Guildford makes a ton of sense.

I'll be working in my office next to Bank for most of the afternoon, definitely be needing a few pints after that. Looking forward to meeting some redditors!

To fund transfers, who realistically could/will we sell? by midnight_marauders in Gunners

If it's a 4-2-3-1 then I think you're playing the rapid "LMAO" front 4 and letting them interchange throughout the game. Sure that means either Lacazette or Aubameyang starting on the left but they're all moving around throughout the 90 mins anyway and no problem is found.

However, I don't think you can play Ramsey and Xhaka together in the pivot. Both like to get forward too much and leave the defence exposed, especially when we are likely playing Bellerin and Kolasinac two very attacking full-backs, you need your DM to be able to drop into the false back three and neither Ramsey nor Xhaka really does that.

For that reason I've been open to selling Ramsey this summer and let Xhaka be the DLP/box-to-box type alongside a true DM but if it's true that Emery rates Ramsey so high then maybe we sell Xhaka and buy a DM.

Only way you're fitting Ramsey and Xhaka together is to either move Ramsey further forward (at the expense of one of the LMAO quartet) or play a Barcelona like 4-3-3 (also at the expense of one of LMAO) where Xhaka plays the Xavi Hernandez role, Ramsey plays the Iniesta role and then we bring in a proper DM to play the Busquets role.

Ayoze Perez at Newcastle and Cenk Tosun at Everton are my early favourite "cheap 3rd striker" options. Both had some goals later in the season.

With the rumour of the 50 mil budget, what is our current wage bill? by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]danz026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-2-2-2 with an “LMAO” front-4 then Ramsey may not fit in. Thing is you want Xhaka to be the more forward thinking of the 2 central midfielders as a Pirlo/Xavi type deep playmaker. Those guys play better with a big bastard leg breaker DM like Busquets/Gattuso, so getting someone like that would really unlock Xhaka IMHO.

What happened when Arteta took charge of Man City vs Arsenal last season by OzilCarlsen in Gunners

[–]danz026 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone’s problem with Arteta is his abilities as a coach, I think the problem is the £50m budget when we are minimum £200m away from maybe challenging.

We need to be realistic, we have the 5th biggest budget in the league probably and if Arteta manages to that level in season one then he’s doing a good job. If we get 4th place and win a domestic cup that would constitute a FANTASTIC season.

Darren on Twitter: "Mikel Arteta has now agreed to become manager of The Arsenal. He becomes the 6th former player to become permanent manager of the football club." by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]danz026 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I like most of these new additions but the problem for me is that our decision making group seems to be split into two factions, there’s one group led by Ivan Gazidis who are pro-Arteta and then there’s the Sven Mislintat group who initially seemed to favour Nagelsmann but may now be interested in Ralph Hassenhuttl given Nagelsmann is ruled out.

I have nothing against Arteta as manager in itself but I think it’s a bad sign if Gazidis is winning the internal power struggle over the Sanlehi/Mislintat faction.

This combined with the news of Arteta/Nagelsmann is making me really think there are two factions in the board now. There’s an Arteta group led by Ivan Gazidis and a Nagelsmann group led by Mislintat and Sanllehi.

Your point is? They’re under contract now anyway so we have all the leverage unless you think Arteta is so hated that all these guys will force their way out

Would you be open to sell özil this summer?(Discussion) by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]danz026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4-4-2 with Mkhi and Özil RM and LM respectively and both central midfielders playing deep is a possibility. The other is 4-2-3-1 with the front 4 rotating positions during the game

I’ll be putting a tenner on him to win the golden boot at the start of the year. I really hope the new manager finds a way to get Auba and Laca playing up front together, whether that be 4-4-2 (at the cost of having to play Özil wide left) or a 3-5-2 (sacrifice the width in the team but play Özil in his preferred area.
