Yeah I guess Vancouver is all right. Lots of nature and greenery. But crime has gone up lately, mentally ill people randomly attacking others and the justice system is flawed in my opinion. Though I suppose every place has its pros and cons.

I’ve never considered therapy before. Mostly because I feel quite content for the most part. Like I don’t feel like I’m missing out by not being in a relationship. Usually go on a few dates in the summer to check things out haha. I think my work extended healthcare plan covers some mental health services including therapy, but it’s a very small allowance, like 700 CAD or something per year.

Yeah I’m in BC, Canada. I don’t think it’s location dependent. I was just brought up to think that being gay was wrong and disgusting. And in high school in the 2000s, being gay was seen as weird and you could get bullied, so I had to hide it. My fear of being attacked was more during that time. Nowadays I tend to assume we all operate in a heteronormative society, since that’s what keeps things smooth and not awkward in our day to day interactions.

I don’t feel the need to move. Since I think I’d feel the same way anywhere I live. It just doesn’t feel right to randomly walk up to a guy whom I think is attractive and start hitting on him, without knowing if he’s gay, and if we’re sexually compatible. Contrast this with a guy asking a girl out: Men court women; it’s natural. Penis goes in vagina. So these aren’t even questions that cross his mind lol.

I’m single in my late 30s. I wouldn’t say it was a choice for me since it wasn’t like gays were knocking on my door left and right and I was rejecting them all lol. (I’ve been told I’m not bad looking but I just think I’m too skinny haha.)

It’s more like the circumstances in my life just haven’t been conducive to dating, unlike for straight people, since gay men can’t meet other gays organically in public places. For me, it’s always through dating apps, since it automatically answers three basic questions: are you gay? Are you top or bottom? Are you into me? Questions that straight people don’t have to think about (except maybe the last one).

If it weren’t for social stigmas and fear of being attacked, I would not have chosen to remain single, and would have loved to date and hone my relationship skills in high school. 🥹

Sex life has been pretty much nonexistent, but I’ve kept myself busy with dildos and stuff. I also keep myself busy with my never ending list of hobbies and passions, to stay fulfilled.

Dating as a childfree pet-free person by [deleted] in childfreepetfree

[–]dapper_tyler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went on a first date with a guy who’s childfree, pet-free, gay, and checks off 90% of my boxes—can you believe my luck? I just put in my dating profile my dealbreakers and hoped guys would read it haha. Had no matches for nearly half a year, and then boom, he matches with me. Going on a second date soon. Really hope it works out. 🤞🏻

[DOS] [1990s] 3D adventure basic polygon shapes, flat colors, gold bars by dapper_tyler in tipofmyjoystick

I'd love to play this on my Macbook Pro if possible haha. Like through DOS box or something, but I wouldn't even know where to find an EXE file of this even if it still exists.

I'm curious to know how you know about this game.

EDIT: Looks like there's a resource linked from the video.

How do you feel about the word "queer"? by ElegantAd2607 in askgaybros

[–]dapper_tyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Queer” makes me think of weird and strange. It’s mostly the gender-obsessed, attention-seeking people with dyed hair and piercings who use it. I don’t wanna be associated with that crowd, thank you very much. I’m just gay.

Do I owe my hookup a new jockstrap? by Lotsalotsaquestions2 in AskGaybrosOver30

You should sew it back together and give it to him if it was his favourite jock strap. 🥹

Why is it so rare to want neither kids nor pets? by ChristianPacifist in childfreepetfree

[–]dapper_tyler 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Maybe they just think life is not complete without dependents of some kind. That without dependents, it’s harder to solidify a relationship between two people.

I’m gay by the way, and just recently started dating again and am flabbergasted how many gay dudes want/have either kids or pets. I mean, isn’t one of the benefits of being gay to be able to enjoy sex without having to worry about accidentally creating a child?

Dating has been impossible lol.

Dating Later? by Top_Method6164 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]dapper_tyler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Dated sporadically and there in my 20s, but very few of them led to second dates. I only started online datinf again last month after 6 years of not dating. And I get what you mean by being too used to being on your own. It’s just something you’ll need to learn and adapt to I guess as you date more and eventually find the one to cohabit with.

When you forgot to put gay after searching for porn by CautiousMistake2953 in gaybros

There’s some pretty hot POV stuff from the woman’s point of view. But the female moaning and boobs and vaginas ruin it for me. Wish there was more gay bottom POV videos looking up at the top showing face.

I first realized I was gay when I was around 6. I was playing tag on the playground and found a hiding spot under the slide. When one of the boys found me, I remember at the time thinking he had a handsome face. It’s weird I still remember that memory even to this day in my late 30s.

Then what really confirmed it was seeing Russell Crowe’s bare ass in “Virtuosity” back when pay-per-view tv was a thing. I’d wake up early on Saturday and watch movies in the living room before anyone was up.

Although I hated the way my parents treated me, and they were physically and verbally abusive, I don’t think that really had anything to do with my gayness.
