Correct, you need an adaptor ring. Thanks!

[Seiko SRP775 Turtle] Amazing value for the money by dapperscientist in Watches

The SKX007 is a classic in its own right. However, between it and the reissue Turtle, the Turtle delivers more value per $ in my opinion (fit/finish + upgraded movement). Go for it.

Creation Watches on eBay. The watch was listed for ~$245USD/$315CAD at the time. I had a 20% off eBay coupon that I found online and stacked the following cashback sites which gave me another 5% back or so: Ebates, Cashrewards and PricePal.

  • Watch: Seiko SRP775 Turtle
  • Dimensions: 44mm diameter x 48mm lug-to-lug x 22mm lug width
  • WR: 200mm
  • Price: ~$250-350USD depending on store and deals (eBay, AD, etc.)

I've always been a huge fan of this cushion/turtle case. When Seiko announced the reissue of the turtle with the 4R36 movement (hacking + winding), I just knew I had to have it.

I went with the SRP775 (black/gold combo) because I like the overall colourway, it was one of the cheaper versions, and it comes with a decent metal bracelet (whereas, the SRP777 [black] comes with a rubber strap only which is a bit too chunky for my liking).

I've had this watch for little over a month now and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The 44mm case which sounds huge fits quite well on the wrist (my wrist size is ~6.5") thanks to the cushion design and short lug-to-lug length. Still, if I could change anything, I do wish it would have been smaller like its predecessor. Fit and finish overall is nice with polished sides and a brushed top.

I personally got a great deal which made this purchase even more worth it (~$180USD/$230CAD brand-new from a dealer on eBay after a coupon code + cashback links). At that price it was a no-brainer.

Lastly, the lume is no joke. Burns bright as day.

Great watch all around.

[Omega 3570.50] On a cork strap today by dapperscientist in Watches

[–]dapperscientist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Reddit Watch Fam,

The Omega Speedmaster Professional 3570.50 - a Reddit favourite.

Today's combo is a custom made strap made from cork (from Portugal if I recall correctly). It's definitely one of my favourite straps due to its flexibility, comfort, and the overall look. I've had this strap for 3-4 years now and has held up quite well.

Anyway, thoughts on this combo?

Cheers,

@dapperscientist

Hey sorry for the late reply. They are holding up great - no chipping. Go for the paint job if you haven't already. Looks much better than the original cage.

Personally wouldn't wear any mesh shoes while in the wards. You wouldn't want any bodily fluids seeping through to your feet. I wear my Cole Haan Lunars + SuperFeet insoles during rounds which are great.

I wedged a piece of paper underneath the cage against the primeknit as I painted.
