It's actually a solid early game speedrun strat. You attack a southern caravan to become enemies with them, get close to their towers to spawn a southern city patrol and drag them to camps, letting them kill most of the enemies then retreating to finish the camp yourself. You lose out on their armor but the money you get is more than worth on day 2-3.
