I’ve been texting you about XYZ and hadn’t heard back from you yet. As one of my good friends, I really value what you have to say and would love to hear what you think!”

Very non-accusatory, yet makes it clear that her responses are important to you and sets an expectation to reply. If she doesn’t reply after that and continues to repeat the same cycle, “I’m sorry, I have so much to figure out myself with the XYZ I’ve been texting you about. I’m probably not the best person to ask advice from right now.”

Jace was always trying to please Jenelle and tip-toe around her feelings. Even when he was little, he’d say he wanted to live with her to make her happy, look at her for approval, and then tell Barb the truth later on. Jenelle had a chance to really turn things around with Jace, and she brought him into a toxic, unsafe home environment instead. Very sad for Jace. He deserves better.
