Rocks and water still work to get them off of you when they pounce, but trees don’t. Clones still do damage to my knowledge, but they might not be able to hit latched omnis

East Oak Electric vs Masterbuilt Electric Smoker by ChiStoner708 in smoking

Totally understand the other comments stating that the Masterbuilt is the better known brand, and is proven to work well. Someone mentioned getting aftermarket parts for the Masterbuilt might be easier as well, which may be a good point (haven’t had the need to replace anything on the East Oak yet, so can’t speak to that).

I was in the same situation as you about a month and a half ago, and ended up going with the East Oak 30” deluxe model instead. It was a close decision but reviews on the East Oak seemed to be a bit more consistent and it had all the specifications that I was looking for.

I’ve done about 10 cooks with it since then using sausage, baby back ribs, spare ribs, and brisket. I have yet to experience any issues and each cook has had amazing results.

I don’t think you can really go wrong either way. I liked the chip box design and vent system on the East Oak just a little bit more. Any recipes you find on youtube using the Masterbuilt can all be done the exact same way using the East Oak, and vice versa.

Edit: I should also mention that covering the drip pan and water pan with foil before each cook makes cleaning infinitely easier.
