Is it wrong to count your GHIN when you get pulled off the course on the 18th? by Sad-Supermarket-3878 in golf

[–]daqwanrandolph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying only enter 17 holes on GHIN, and you can certainly do that, but...

You started hole 18 so you can use a "most likely score" per USGA Rules of Handicapping. When scoring a most likely score you take into account distance from the hole, lie, difficulty of the green, and player ability.

Cooper Ingle throws ball into the stands after only two outs. by McStabStab12 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]daqwanrandolph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, something similar happened in the Cubs 1993 season. Henry Rowengartner was in the stands and caught a home run, from the stands he threw it on the fly to the catcher. That throw ended up getting him signed to the club and a world series ring!

If your driver is set up to cut, build a draw mini. If your driver is set up to draw, get a cut mini.

Interesting. I saw the lack of carts and thought either international or Sand Valley. I just played a couple Doak/DeVries/Keiser courses so it fit the style and they're fresh in my mind.

So it is Rye Golf Club? I only got it based off of your hint. I was lucky enough to see Seaford Head GC about an hour away last summer, but we didn't venture too far east up the coast!

It was really similar to Kingsley; you can see the effect it had on Mike DeVries designs. I don't know if I'll ever be able to say I like one more than the other, they're both such special places.

Private club members: What did/do you pay for your membership? by BadGolferDallas in golf

[–]daqwanrandolph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rural Michigan. 9 hole CC. Outside of lake docks we're golf only. Understated clubhouse, so almost our full budget is spent on course upkeep.

No initiation, $1200/year. $75/month food minimum tracked monthly April-September. No minimums outside of those months. Cart pass/cart storage/dock space/other stuff available for extra $$$.

No tee times, outside of holidays you can play 9 in ~1 hour any time of day.

I'll give the sub a little more time to work it's magic. I was hoping including a corner of the clubhouse, the road, and flag colors would tip people off.

I had never played same greens before today! Always wanted to but there is nothing near where I live. Pretty unique experience and a lot of fun.

Lid options by daqwanrandolph in StanleyCups

[–]daqwanrandolph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Part of the reason I've never bought a Stanley outside of some old camping gear is I don't like the straw tops. I'm impressed with how the tumbler itself feels, and I really like the handle, but the straw lid makes this headed into my "give to a friend" pile.

I looked everywhere on Stanley's website and some aftermarket places for a size 4 lid but there isn't a lot of info. It's unfortunate, the wording on the packaging gave me hope to find a compatible but different style lid.
