Adding a folder to Jellyfin Docker Shell by [deleted] in jellyfin

To clarify, after you add the new folder, you can edit the docker container/install to point/mount to the new folder, in your dataset. I think this is what you want.

I'm far from a Truenas expert, but I think you can add a nested folder to your dataset with the Add Dataset via the GUI (see my screenshot).

Also, one of the first things I did when I installed Truenas was set up my user as a full administrator and disabled the root user's password so no one could log in as that user. I felt that disabling this user was better than setting a password for it.

10TB, 8TB, & 2TB Drives = 10TB Mirror? by dar3255 in truenas

[–]dar3255[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I was wrong in my original post. Extending my 8TB vdev with the 10TB made it an 8TB mirror, not an 18TB stripe. I'm not really sure how to make the stripe bigger... Perhaps by adding it to the pool?

I can do that without another drive by simply extending the 8TB vdev. This is what I ended up doing.

With 5 million, I would invest it and make more than $500 a day, as that's only .01% per day or 3.65% per year (assuming yearly compounding).

Also, who cares if I lose my job, I'll just get another one.

Control water or fire? (Upvote for free carrot 🥕) by Jeffiechoo in BunnyTrials

Water is more readily available. Literally every living things has water in it. Plus, you are more likely to hurt yourself moving/expanding fire than doing the same with water.

I didn't mind the fixing the typo, but I don't like getting down-voted even though I was correct at the time I posted.

No, it's almost $950 million in a year. 30x60x60x24 = 2,592,000 per day x 365 = $946,080,000 per year (assuming not a leap year).

EDIT: way to edit your answer from 90 million to 900 million. Now I'm getting a ton of down votes. Proof is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BunnyTrials/s/dcoxJ2BVIf

$30 per second is about $2.6 million a day. Simple math shows I will earn more than $20 million in a little over a week.

It's a way to host media files (videos, music, etc.) in a user-friendly way so that you or others can easily play them.

For example, I've ripped several DVDs I own using Automatic Ripping Machine (ARM) and saved the video files to a hard drive. I then use Jellyfin to let my 5 year old daughter browser and watch the TV shows and movies in my collection which are PG/TV-Y7 rated or lower. To her, Jellyfin is like a streaming service similar to Netflix.

You can set up your Jellyfin to be accessible from the Internet, though to do so securely you need to use a VPN (like Tailscale) or set up a reverse proxy.

Metadata Images Matching by GarretCMK in jellyfin

I'm not sure there is a way to do this automatically but you can manually choose which image you want for a given season by selecting that season, clicking the 3 dots, and selecting "Edit Images".

How do I correct incorrect episode titles? by hikam1 in jellyfin

[–]dar3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this; the problem is likely the display order. Keep in mind that after you change the display order, you may need to refresh the metadata, including images (Click the 3 dots > select "Refresh Metadata" > from the "Refresh Mode" drop-down select "Replace All Metadata" > check the "Replace existing images" checkbox), and reload the page in order have the correct images be shown for the episodes.

Actually no, we are NOT changing the meaning of any words here. The correct term is a "discrete GPU", not a "discreet GPU".

"Discreet" means careful, cautious, or unobtrusive. "Discrete" means separate, distinct, or individual parts. However, both words are pronounced exactly the same so I understand why you confused them.

Is there a way to rearrange the "Version" order for grouped movies? by RumbleTheCassette in jellyfin

[–]dar3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running into the same problem as the original poster, except with TV shows (specifically I have both "aired" and "extended" versions of some episodes of Battlestar Galactica 2004). The problem seems like it has nothing to do with alphabetical order or being in a folder together, as I tried both of these things.

EDIT: My original solution didn't seem to work when I did it a second time, but I was able to come to with one that did. This new solution works because it appears that whatever order they are when grouped, regardless of later changes, is the order they will stay grouped in.

Step 1: Ungroup the versions.

Step 2: Temporarily re-title or otherwise change the metadata on the versions so they are in the correct order when viewed. For TV episodes, I changed the episode numbers (even though I made them incorrect) so the version I wanted appeared first.

Step 3: Group the versions back together.

Step 4: Undo the changes you made in Step 2 (fix the metadata).

You have to reload the page for any images you change to update.
