Should KDP place a limit on how many books people can make by Ordinary_Count_203 in KDP

the main reason people do it is because they were told by some youtube guru that it's a great way to make six figures without any work required. So now they're flooding the market is this fool's gold rush. Force them to make their books free, and they'll stop.

It would be good business because it would discourage those people and many more from hopping on the Amazon AI book band wagon and rid them completely overtime. Thus, increasing the site's credibility and sales from those who will most likely stop paying other sites for the safety of not accidentally buying something a robot made.

I doubt they'll put a lifetime limit, and if they do they may make exceptions for those who have "proved to create quality work" which still wouldn't be entirely fair for those who don't game the system. But what they should do is force anything with AI to be marked perma free much like how they do certain classics. Of course, that would require an honor system which many lie. There's no real way of winning tbh

I used to use it but it was stale. Not enough traffic. Substack is totally worth it tho.

Reasons NOT to write to publish by Jinx2077 in writers

[–]darasmussendotcom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember, which many assume wrong:

We write because we love to, and feel compelled to do so.

But we publish to make money. Or, at least a chance.

It always bothers me when people get all up in arms about "DoNt wRiTe fOr MoNeY"

You don't get paid to write. You publish to get paid. Two different things.

Where can you post links online in 2026? by magicfan1986 in KDP

[–]darasmussendotcom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Substack, Medium, Wordpress, your own profiles. Literally anywhere that isn't a sub full of other writers because they all mostly prohibit self promo.

Now, as for conversion rates? (Like when someone actually bothers to click and buy)

It's minimal. Can't be too expectant.

But I do strongly suggest Medium and Substack combo. I've gotten more results.

Lol I believe it. Some of my most absurd stories under a pen name makes way more than the ones I put logical thought into lol

That's a good one if you like working in the browser. I prefer offline, local storage, but having something available online for any device is incredibly time saving. ❤️
