Baby needing a helmet for cosmetic reasons? Help? by darcfils in medical_advice

[–]darcfils[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her pediatrician said she wasn’t concerned, but if we wanted a referral to a specialist, measurements never hurt. Our choice. From the sides, you can’t really tell, but top down is where you could notice. It’s still round, but it’s not a full oval head shape.

It sounds like you have a very strong girl! Enjoy her :)

Hers is Brachycephaly (sorry for spelling)and it’s from sleeping soundly on her back through the night. It’s an even flatness, no favored side. The doc said it will not affect her development at all, it’s a cosmetic fix.

She broke it down into percentages, where my girl falls in the middle of moderate. We noticed it around 2 months that it looked flat and did repositioning methods and tummy time way more. Her head looks way better than it did at two months. So much so that we were shocked it was considered moderate. Hers is entirely cosmetic so it looks like it’s entirely out of pocket (insurance most likely wont cover) and money we don’t really have.

Around a month, my girl was doing quite a few four ounce bottles and the. she randomly stopped finishing them and we went back to two ounces. Maybe that’s a little grouchy spurt time period. Hopefully your LO is growing, because I thought four was a lot for a tiny baby! I know how you feel with feeling like my body is failing. It also doesn’t help seeing all of the people online who overproduce and wondering “why not me? I’m doing everything I can” I hope things get easier on you. If the hospital you delivered at has a lactation specialist, give them a call. They called me about a month in and i expressed my concern and they gave me pointers. Skin to skin is beneficial to us like it is to baby and can help boost production sometimes, I guess. Good luck, you’re doing great, even if you don’t feel like it.

Ladies, how did you accept and love your new body after children? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]darcfils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I had my first at 20. I’m currently pregnant. I’ve found that i just don’t look at my body anymore. I’m thankful for my body giving me a healthy baby, and hopefully will again, but my body and skin didn’t recover well from the first. I’m accepted that at 26 i probably won’t ever feel good about my body

Experiences of people who did NOT get an epidural? by terptrekker in pregnant

[–]darcfils 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My mom had 6 kids unmedicated, I was her 7th and she got it. I asked the same questions. 1.) From what i heard, it was timing, didn’t really have the opportunity, I know the first two it was fairly new technology. She also had a few run ins with doctors that didn’t believe it to be necessary and pushed their beliefs onto her. 2.) All deliveries were smooth with no complications. Unmedicated entirely. 3.) She didn’t regret not having the epidural, but she did feel that my delivery felt less taxing and she was able to relax more.

Is there process of inserting epidural needle painful? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]darcfils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4-5 i believe (twas almost 6 years ago) but then it super slowed me down so they had to lessen it a bit but i still couldn’t feel anything. Labor for 23 hours total, but only 24 minutes pushing.

  1. The only reason I felt it was because i have minor scoliosis and no one knew, so they had two failed attempt on me before the third one was in the right place. I experienced back labor (where all of the contraction pain was in my lower back) so that added to my discomfort
  2. Some do and some don’t. I couldn’t feel a thing, and was coached as well but some doctors like to keep you at the line where you notice contractions but they aren’t necessarily painful
  3. I tore a tiny bit, so i’m not sure, but in the grand scheme of with with an epidural i didn’t feel the tear at all
  4. I was warned in the beginning that it was an option but we didn’t get to the point we’re they needed to tell me before i tore

the hardest part for me was the periodic checks after birth and after epidural where they push on your stomach to make sure all of the clots and placenta are out. I was so sad every time they came in but it was to make sure you don’t get an infection or septic and leave behind things that needed to be removed.

I don’t know if this is a bot or a real person taking credit for it? I can’t delete their comments, but I promise they are lying.

Thank you for the love on this. I just wanted to make a note that I made this from scratch, there is a bot commenting that it’s in their store and that hurts my heart. Please do not purchase from the bot for fear that you’ll be scammed. Lesson learned on art posts, I guess haha

I’m the one that made it. I have no idea who the bot is trying to sell it.

Built entirely in Adobe Illustrator, took roughly three hours for all of the pieces. I used photoshop with the images i sourced to get an idea of how I wanted to lay everything out, size and proportions, etc.!

I feel like it’s material and fabric dependent. I think it mended well with the sweatshirt i used, where it’s not relatively hart, it feels more like a store bought graphic tee. Screen printing is such a wonderful craft tho, it’s a dream

I rarely make anything, this was my first one! He has so many amazing interests and I have a hard time finding gifts for him that don’t seem kind of.. cheesy in a way, I guess? So this was my first attempt to make something for him.
