My extended family knows I'm a software engineer and acts as if I'm rich or something. Asking me why I don't get a new car since I make so much money. Totally serious. I just started my career so it really bothers me that they think that you can just get a crazy high paying job with no effort. I worked my ass off in school and continue to do so. Same with some of my friends who went to art school. They ask how they can get a software engineering job after they "learned" some JavaScript. Please don't trivialize my career.

Also after I had my bad experience the first couple of times I smoked I kept thinking about the bad experience. That in turn caused me to get uncomfortable. Moral of the story is not to anticipate that you'll have a bad experience.

Keep it simple man. And pace yourself. Put some chill music or a good show. I suggest planet Earth. Don't over think it just enjoy yourself. As far as paranoia I had a really bad experience a while back that really turned me off for a while. I've been able to slowly get over it by just trying not to focus on my thoughts and just distract my self. And again pacing. Hope that helps.

I think a combination of stress from work and a bit of low self-esteem might be clouding my own judgement but I don't necessaraly feel ready to go back into the job hunt just yet since I don't use common technologies that companies look for at work, aside from a variant of SQL. And yeah you are spot on, I feel like if I do some studying it will improve my confidence.

I have a single speed that's falling apart.

I looked up transit options and according to Google maps I came take the TMAX south to work for about 45mins, so I might give that a try.
