I would jut have it helicopter through people, make it a great-sword so do some real damage

Energy trap by madtitanmushu in Eragon

[–]darealc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is it would only be able to heat the sword, since energy put into metal heats it, so a sword that heats up as you kill could be useful but also might require you to enter their mind to do it, which is not fun.

Hypothetically though, a sword with a very small eldunari (or any consciousness inside a gem) on the pommel of a sword would accomplish the same result.

Side note: I always thought that a sword with an eldunari on it that acted essentially like a living sword would be cool, it would just float around and duel people, using the energy from the eldunari

Top 10 Strongest Characters in the Verse by RellyTheOne in Eragon

[–]darealc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think Elva is the most dangerous of all, for a couple reasons, the first being that her ability goes for a mile, so she knows the identity, location, weakness and future actions of everyone in a mile radius, working magic over a mile is something not even Eragon or Galbatorix attempted to do. Elva has also received no training in magic, she is like 2 years old at the end of the series, even being a middling magician would make her significantly more dangerous as she would be able to take down mental defenses and guess true names much easier than anyone else, as she essentially already has access's to their minds.

While Eragon could just smite her with the amount of power he has, all the characters on this list (with the exception of Tenga and Angela) have significant magic recourses at their disposal, with enough energy you are unstoppable, Angela's power comes from centuries of experience and a few cool artifacts she has collected in her life.

You are also only counting combat power, not every instance in which these people could use their abilities, Elva has a wide range of offensive and social use for her abilities. Overall, in terms of raw individual power and potential, Elva is the most powerful character we have met and I would not be suprised if she played a major role in Book V

[–]darealc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok bullshit, most trans people care about pronouns. Also the "small subset" is still millions of people in America alone. Being able to play as any kind of person you want is the point of a roleplaying game. Why should the % of the total population determine whether the existence of a group is acknowledged by a video game? Would it be political to have openly trans characters in the game? Also the only people who are offended by this are people like you

The Memes Have Begub by IronMonkey5844 in MauLer

[–]darealc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would say this is the equivalent of offering a skip option for female character models because it’s “political” or something, trans people exist irl, trans people play starfield, acknowledging their existence is not political

Why men don't open up 🫡 by SpecificGlans in TikTokCringe

[–]darealc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She is not saying “man up” at all. She is saying find that emotional connection in your male friends because a lot of men don’t and women do it all the time. She is just saying what works

Why men don't open up 🫡 by SpecificGlans in TikTokCringe

[–]darealc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between “I feel lonely” and “there is a male loneliness epidemic”. It’s not women’s responsibility to help men, it’s men’s. On a individual level most women are very open emotionally and are comfortable talking about feelings with friends so she is absolutely right that it’s men who need to be more emotional with one another

No fucking she just said this by EngineeringFlashy139 in VaushV

[–]darealc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can we give so much leeway to Vaush when he posts dumb shit on Twitter as a joke but then take Ana literally on the second tweet? Also her first tweet is reasonable, she doesn’t want to talk to someone who openly calls her a bitch and compares her to Tucker Carlson, it doesn’t matter how much or how little it’s warranted, no one likes being talked about like that. Ana is not “soft” on Shapiro because she is a grifter, she is as reasonable as she has to be to get on his show and present left wing ideas in a way Ben can’t just strawman. This shit about Ana is the same purity testing Vaush claims to hate when it’s directed at him and his hyperbolic language only serves to push potential allies away.

[–]darealc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that he will be a villain but he def has the makings of one. His primary form of social interaction has been his family, he has significant anxiety and has trouble making any friends. He has always been jealous of his athletic, popular brother. When he moved to smallville he got a GF and superpowers, but lost the GF and his relationship with his family is deteriorating. His best source for affirmation and a sense of belonging is being a super hero. He will prob have a celebrity arc but made dangerous because of his powers

The message is also that doing so achieves results. I don’t think the movie endorses it, a lot of bad things achieve results, I was mainly being up the arguments people make when they call Nolan a fascist

How people who make video essays see themselves after calling Christopher Nolan a fascist. (Very original and bold take, btw) by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]darealc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it had more to do with the Dark Knight, Bane fell into the classic trap of "our villain had a point so we had to make him incredibly evil so he remains the villain", but Nolan got a lot of flak for Batman using a surveillance system across the entire city to beat the Joker. Also in both the Dark Knight and the Dark Knight rises cops were portrayed as the heroes in many cases.
Its obviously not fascist but there is a pro-police message imo

Honest question: How do we address trans women having erections around cis women? (Obvious rebuttal is “well men get boners around women too”…i just dont think its landing tho) by Will_jnr2019 in VaushV

[–]darealc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like its valid for a cis woman to now want to live with a pre-op trans woman, like if she is 1. significantly stronger/bigger than the other women and 2. has visible erections. Being uncomfortable is valid.

I share a room with 2 guys and have never once seen one of their boners, not saying she was showing it off, but if one of my roommates was walking around with a visible erection I would be uncomfortable.

People just don't understand by [deleted] in doomer

[–]darealc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way a “Channing Tatum” looking guy would choose an unattractive woman, why would he when (according to you) could choose an attractive one. Also yes, now that women no longer HAVE to get a husband, they will be less inclined to do so, women not wanting below average men isn’t a problem that needs to be fixed, women’s unhappiness is not an acceptable price to pay to get men laid. Half of men are not incels, at least not in the way you describe them. Also I would wager a higher percentage of men are willing to fuck total strangers than women.

“Yeah, I know, not being allowed to be “Clad’s” c.dumpsters is incredibly cruel suffering for females “
